New year 🎊
It was my birthday yesterday - so new year for me and a new start, well a continuation of my journey of self improvement - so glad I joined this course - just need to complete the last one 🫣 - only a few more exercises to do 😁

The Indoor Generation!
45mph winds in Jersey today, courtesy of the tail end of a storm! I spent three hours marshalling a trail half marathon along the north coast, checking runners through and cheering them on. Then decided to head out for a windy 5K run myself. Meanwhile, I’ve spent most of the afternoon trying to persuade my 13 year old daughter to actually leave the house. Her and her friends have spent the day chatting online and playing games together. No incentive to go outside and actually meet up! When I was 13, being sent to my bedroom was a punishment! 😂 I genuinely worry about this Indoor Generation. Sometimes I think we need to stop encouraging them to get outside and start insisting on it. Small victory though. I did manage to get her out for a walk... Anyone else fighting this battle with their teenagers? Or am I just turning into a grumpy old man? 😂. It were better in my day...

Good Morning. Yesterday I did the work. HIIT at 11:30, walks in the evening. Today is Saturday with training scheduled for right after I post this: cycle work longer ride today, endurance training, boxing and core training, and a bit of yoga. A lesson I keep coming back to from a book I was recently reading: do the work in front of you, one day at a time, and let rest do its part. This week proved that again. What lesson from a mentor or a book has stuck with you? Put it in the comments. I’d love to hear your story.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve taken from working with Ollie is that lasting change comes from identity, not motivation. Stop focusing solely on what you want to achieve and start thinking about the person you need to become. Build the standards, make the decisions and take the actions that reflect that identity. The results will follow. That’s something I’ve really taken into my own life over the last few years.
Simplifying my wardrobe
As some of you know, my Mrs wants us to separate so I've been moved to the top floor bedroom. It's quite small 😂. So I'm using it as an opportunity to make my life easier. Do I need 14 work shirts? 6 pairs of running shorts? 42 pairs of socks?? 17 t shirts? I like them and do wear them but it's excessive so I've taken half my wardrobe to charity. Less choice means less brain power used which in turn means a simpler life, and more energy to focus on what's important.
