Here is a quick gel ombré tutorial to help you get started 🫶 I am planning on doing a full series of this and adding it to the classroom, but unfortunately a few things have come up that I need to sort out first. I didn’t want to leave you hanging though, so here is a quick first demonstration. Trust me. Do it. It sounds like a hassle because of all the things you need, I put off doing it for years before I actually tried it for the first time and it changed my life 😂. Ombre’s are a lot faster, and better blended for me now because of this. I will be making more parts, using other tools, making the blend richer, and blending multiple colours 🫶

Anyone use a service to book your clients online? I’ve always used the old school way with a calendar and a pencil. I constantly had clients calling daily, all hours. I joined an online booking service and I really like it. Clients can go to my website and book. It sends them a confirmation and reminder. This is my first month doing this. So far it’s been really helpful. I probably should’ve done this a long time ago. Anyone else making this change?

Does anyone have an allergy to gel polish? I’ve been doing nails for 8 years. 2 years ago my fingers began to peel and crack and I finally figured out it’s the gel polish I’m allergic to. I protect my hands now with nitrile finger cots because I hate gloves but I was uneducated and got gel on my skin with every set for years. It took years of exposure to develop the allergy to anything that dries under a light even if it is hema free. Please, don’t get gel on you or your client, you will eventually have a reaction. My fingers hurt until I learned how to protect myself. My mama has done nails since 1995 and went through the same thing. I’m happy to answer any questions or help anyway I can to let techs know the dangers of getting gel on the skin.
