Some losses don’t just affect one person. They leave an entire community searching for words. Today, we mourn the passing of Lamar “Black Ice” Manson, a man whose voice carried truth, conviction, and humanity every time he stepped to the microphone. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him in person, his work reached me anyway. For years, I’ve admired the way his words carried weight long after the performance ended. His poetry challenged, inspired, and reminded me of the kind of impact a voice can have when it’s rooted in truth. He didn’t just leave poems behind. He left pieces of himself in every soul that heard him speak. His legacy will continue to live in every stage he graced, every poet he inspired, and every life his words touched. Rest Peacefully, Black Ice. Thank you for reminding so many of us that poetry isn’t just something you write. It’s something you leave behind in people. 🕊️💜 #BlackIce #LamarManson #SpokenWord #PoetryCommunity #Poet #RestInPower #LegacyLivesOn #LoveAndLyrics #WhereWordsHaveFreedom
