Faith That Endures When Feelings Fade
There are seasons when faith feels powerful and alive… and seasons when it feels quiet, heavy, or distant. Real faith isn’t built on emotions alone. Feelings change. Circumstances shift. But faith that endures is rooted in truth, trust, and daily obedience, even when the spark isn’t there. Some reminders for those seasons: Faith is a choice, not just a feeling Showing up still counts, even when you feel empty God is working even in the silence Growth often happens underground before you see it If you’re in a season where feelings have faded, you’re not failing — you’re being strengthened. What helps you stay grounded in your faith when emotions aren’t leading the way?

Have you ever wondered what the 3 Hebrew boys went through? Like what it was like to be in the middle of a consuming fire? Yet. No be burned? Several years back I learned what that feeling was. I had an accident at work that sent me to a burn unit. Where I was told 80% of my face neck and chest. And some on both arms were superficial burns. Meaning I didn’t burn through the nerves so the pain was going to be felt. Honestly, I didn’t feel any pain until the healing process started. I refused pain meds at the hospital (I was only there about 2.5 days). But changing the bandages on my hands, that’s when I felt pain. Looking back the miracle that God did in my life during that specific time is just one of the many He has done for and through me throughout my time so far on earth. I’m married (going on 29 years now) have 5 beautiful daughters, and one lively, beautiful granddaughter. Now tell me God doesn’t have a sense of humor. lol. Anyway, in the moments you feel like you are being consumed by the issues surrounding you. Remember this, the boys came out untouched by the flames. Not even a scent of fire, smoke, or any remnants proving they were in God’s very own hands the whole time. Stay in the center of God’s will. Nobody’s gotchu like Jesus.
Light in the Temple: Recognizing God in Ordinary Moments
We often look for God in big miracles, answered prayers, or life-changing moments. But so often, His presence shows up quietly — in routine days, small obediences, and ordinary faithfulness. God meets us: in consistency, not just intensity in waiting, not just breakthrough in everyday acts of love and service The temple wasn’t always loud or dramatic — yet God’s light filled it. In the same way, our daily lives can become holy ground when we’re attentive. ✨ Reflection: Where have you noticed God showing up in small or ordinary ways lately?

We as “Christians” state we trust God with our eternal life. But at the same time hesitate to trust Him with everyday things. We need to learn to trust Him with everything.

⏳ Living in God’s Timing
Waiting is one of the hardest parts of faith. We often want answers now, breakthroughs now, clarity now—but God works in perfect timing, not rushed timing. 📖 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) Living in God’s timing means trusting Him even when life feels delayed or unclear. It’s choosing obedience while waiting, faith while hoping, and peace while the outcome is still unseen. God’s timing teaches us to: Grow in patience and dependence on Him Let go of control and trust His plan Prepare our hearts for what He’s preparing for us Rest in the truth that delays are not denials Sometimes God is not saying “no”—He’s saying “not yet.” And often, the waiting season is where He does His deepest work in us. 🙏 Reflection Question: What are you waiting on God for right now—and how can you trust His timing more fully?

In reading this morning the question came to me. What day is it today for you? Jesus speaking to His disciples, the night before His crucifixion, told them what was going to happen. And then it all played out right before their eyes. Today, what day are you in? Thursday: being very serious or should I say worried of things that seem to be taken place? Friday: where the pain is real? Saturday: where stress and grief are slapping you in the face? Or Sunday: marveled but hopeful that everything is going to be alright? Jesus told you what would happen now hold on to what you know is true.
Rooting Out Hidden Idols
We often think of idols as obvious things—money, fame, success. But some of the most dangerous idols are the hidden ones quietly taking root in our hearts. Hidden idols can look like: Comfort over obedience Approval of others over God’s truth Control instead of trust Productivity over presence with God Even good things—family, ministry, routines—when they take God’s place An idol is anything we depend on more than God for security, identity, or peace. 📖 “Search me, O God, and know my heart… See if there is any offensive way in me.” (Psalm 139:23–24) God doesn’t reveal hidden idols to shame us—He reveals them to free us. Just like weeds choke healthy plants, idols slowly crowd out our intimacy with Him. How do we root them out? Ask God to expose them – Be honest in prayer. Pay attention to emotions – What makes you anxious, defensive, or fearful often points to an idol. Surrender daily – Repentance isn’t a one-time act; it’s a posture. Replace, don’t just remove – Fill that space with worship, trust, and obedience. When God is truly first, everything else finds its proper place. 🌿 Let’s allow Him to uproot what doesn’t belong—so real growth can happen. 🙏 Reflection Question: What is one thing you might be holding onto more tightly than God right now? If you want, I can also make a short version, discussion prompt, or graphic caption for this post.

That’s something we all need to reflect on. I know sometimes I feel like as if God wants me to step away from things and trust Him. But it is hard to do.
