Shadow Work Isn’t Healing. It’s Accountability
Most people say they want to heal. What they often mean is that they want relief. They want the anxiety to quiet down, the heartbreak to stop aching, the triggers to disappear. But shadow work is not relief. It is confrontation. Shadow work is not about candles, journals, or the aesthetic of darkness. It is not about calling yourself “evolved” because you can name your trauma. It is about taking responsibility for the parts of you that hurt others while you were busy surviving. It begins with a difficult truth: you are not just the wounded one. You are also the one who adapted. The version of you that shuts down instead of communicating did not appear out of nowhere. That was a strategy. The version of you that controls conversations, tests loyalty, withholds affection, or leaves before you can be left those were not flaws. They were armor. At some point in your life, those behaviors kept you safe. They protected you from rejection, humiliation, abandonment, chaos. But survival strategies, when left unexamined, become self-sabotage. Your trauma explains your patterns. It does not excuse them. That is where real shadow work begins. Not in blaming your past. Not in endlessly dissecting what was done to you. But in asking yourself how you are now participating in your own suffering. The shadow is not evil. It is unintegrated. It is the part of you that learned distorted lessons in order to cope. Your jealousy may be unspoken desire. Your anger may be violated boundaries that were never defended. Your need for control may be fear of unpredictability. Your detachment may be grief that never had language. When you refuse to look at these parts, they operate unconsciously. They choose your partners. They repeat the same relational dynamic in different faces. They sabotage intimacy just as it begins to feel real. And because they are hidden, you will swear it is fate, bad luck, or “just the way things are.” But the moment you bring awareness to them, everything changes.

I found that you have to love and accept your shadow self and yes there will be time where you have to revisit the shadows you had before. Don't consider that as going backwards but as growth for that is what it is.

Return to me chant spell
Your energy remembers where it has been. Every conversation. Every attachment. Every situation where you overextended, overgave, or overexplained. Even when you walk away physically, parts of you can linger. That’s why “Return to Me” work is so powerful. This isn’t about pulling someone back. It isn’t about controlling outcomes. It’s about reclaiming the pieces of yourself you left behind trying to make something work. When you love deeply, you invest energy. When you argue, you invest energy. When you obsess, replay, analyse you invest energy. And over time, you can feel scattered. The chant is a gathering. “I call my power back to me” is a declaration of sovereignty. You are allowed to retrieve your focus. You are allowed to stop feeding old timelines. You are allowed to come back into your body. Reclamation changes your posture. Your sleep improves. Your thoughts quieten. Your clarity sharpens. Because when your energy is no longer stretched across people and memories, it becomes available for your present life. This is how you reset after heartbreak. After disappointment. After pouring too much into something that couldn’t hold you. Call it back gently. Call it back firmly. Call it back until you feel whole again. Nothing dramatic. Nothing forced. Just the steady return of yourself to yourself. And that is where your power lives.

Sometimes I need to do this several times a day
Hey everyone 🤍
I owe you all an explanation and an apology for my absence. Last year I became seriously ill with pneumonia, and since the first time, it’s come back and taken me down three separate times. Recovery hasn’t been linear, and it’s impacted my energy, consistency, and ability to show up the way I want to and the way you deserve. I’m truly sorry for the silence and the lack of presence in this space. This community means a lot to me, and disappearing was never my intention. Right now, I’m focusing on rebuilding my health properly so I can come back stronger, clearer, and more aligned not burnt out or forcing energy I don’t have. Hex & Shadow deserves depth, intention, and presence, not rushed content or half-energy. Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for being here. I’m grateful for every single one of you, and I’m committed to showing up again with integrity, consistency, and real value as I regain my strength. With love, Laura 🖤
