What is the best idea ever for writers?
I have been enjoying a debate in another group about the best business idea ever, and it got me wondering what the answer would be for writers. What is the greatest invention or idea in the history of writing? The nominees could range from the humble eraser and the sticky note, to the printing press and the typewriter, all the way to spell check, the delete key and "save as." And let us not overlook coffee, the deadline and the library card. So I am putting it out there. What do you think is the best thing ever invented for writers, and why? Let me know your thoughts below. I am withholding my own vote until I see yours.

My vote goes to “Undo.” It’s a tiny button that always reminds me how you’re allowed to get it wrong. Try the strange opening. Cut the paragraph you love (but save it to Evernote). Let the character do something unexpected. Knowing you can go back gives us the courage to take risks that hopefully lead to better stories. Coca Cols gets me to the keyboard. Undo gives me courage once I’m there.

I have a Twilight Zone-esque story that's been gnawing at me for a couple of months. It feels more like a stage play or a short film than a book. Still marinating. Also returning to a WIP that is almost half way through. It's been on the shelf for about a year and needs finishing.

Finished one book narration and started on book 36. Three interesting author interviews and posted a brand new one for @Lana McAra. Most important: Colleen and I celebrated 48 years of marriage on Wednesday. Still marveling at how it's possible to love someone more with each passing year.
