Core Mark of a False Prophet
A while back, I kept hearing people calling mega church pastors "false prophets" or "false teachers". That label gets thrown around a lot in the Christian world. It bothered me because I've attended a "mega church" over the past 15 years. And personally, I've had overwhelmingly positive experiences. I didn't start in mega churches. I had never been a part of a mega church until my mid twenties. Up until then, I had only ever attended a smaller church. I mention that to say I've had both experiences. Now, every church I've attended, small or large, has been imperfect from the minute I walked in the door. It probably got a lot more imperfect after I stayed for a while. Church's definitely have a responsibility to be faithful to Scripture, and we should find one that is. Yet, I have always been more blessed by the churches I've been apart of far more than I have been harmed by them. I also believe God is sovereign. That means if I'm not living in direct disobedience to Him, I have to believe that He placed me into my local church for a purpose and a plan. He certainly has for me. It's often been to work His will in me while also allowing me to be apart of a local body of believers and hopefully serve and contribute. I can look back and see what God did in me in each church I've attended. I can see His hand at work in my own life and the blessings and lessons he brought from those seasons. That's not to say that there are not bad church experiences at times for some people that cause genuine pain. I've had a few of my own. I had an extremely tough church experience in my early twenties. As I look back on it now, I could not be more thankful for that experience, even though it left me feeling very broken at the time. God used it to bring me to a better place. He used it to work His will in me. Now, back to false prophets. I've heard statements like "That guy is a false prophet cause he wears a Rolex". Ok. Could be. Sure. Or somebody just gave him one. I think we have to take a closer look.

Shelton. Masterfully articulated! In the prophetic warnings of Book of Jeremiah, the false prophet is portrayed as one who speaks confidently yet stands outside the counsel of God. The Lord rebukes such voices in Jeremiah 23:18, asking, “For who hath stood in the counsel of the Lord, and hath perceived and heard his word?” The tragedy of the false prophet is not merely that he/she speaks error, but that they refuse the divine counsel that would correct him. Instead of waiting in humility before God, they proclaim visions born from his own imagination, offering people comfort where repentance is required. By rejecting the counsel of the Lord, he replaces revelation with presumption and truth with flattery, leading the people further from the path of life. Jeremiah’s warning reminds the faithful that true prophetic ministry flows from those who have stood in God’s presence, listened to His word, and submitted their message to His authority rather than their own ambition. If you have not attended the counsel meeting and continue to speak for a God you have not met and release a word you have not studied we must reject. When scripture has no voice, we must have no ears.

-Logos. Bible study software. They have a free version. Great place to get started and start building resources for study. You can purchase different upgrade packages and/or one time books, commentaries, etc. I use it weekly. -New Bible Commentary edited by Gordon J. Wenham, J Alec Moyer, D.A. Carson and R.T. France and their credentials (this is available in Logos). It's a solid overall commentary (in my opinion). I go to commentaries when I need to get someone way smarter than me's take on a passage.

Wayne Grudem Systemic Theology is one of my tools of study and I usually pull from many theologians outside of denomination which has given a wealth of knowledge. Now to be honest while I am considering, Wesley, Spurgeon, Tozer, Torrance, I am recalling Maslow, Darwin and others because of how layered the scriptures are revealed.
The Call of the Shepherd
Beloved, the Lord is calling His people into a deeper place of discernment in this hour. The voice of the Shepherd is still speaking, and those who belong to Him will not be confused by the noise of the world. It is time to “Be Still and Know”. It is written in the Gospel of John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” This is a season where God is sharpening the spiritual hearing of His people so they may recognize His movements in the earth. Even when the world seems uncertain and many voices compete for attention, the Lord is drawing His people closer so they may walk confidently in His direction. The Spirit of God is reminding the faithful that discernment is born from relationship. When you remain near to the Shepherd, His voice becomes clear, His leading becomes unmistakable, and His purposes begin to unfold in your life with divine precision. Take courage, for the Lord is also maturing His people so they can interpret what He is doing in this generation. Scripture reminds us in Hebrews 5:14 that those who are mature have their spiritual senses trained to discern both good and evil. What once seemed confusing will begin to come into focus as the Holy Spirit teaches you to recognize the difference between the voice of God and the distractions of the age. Even when humanity turns away and the earth itself groans for redemption, the Lord still speaks to those who listen. Therefore, remain attentive, remain prayerful, and remain anchored in His presence. The same God who speaks through His Word and His Spirit is guiding His people step by step, and those who hear Him will not miss the hour of His visitation.
Poison ivy
I've been out for about 2 weeks after a pretty gnarly stint with poison ivy. That's why I haven't been as activate. How's everybody doing? What are you studying right now?

Glad you’re back! I’m studying discernment. Particularly Luke 19:44 and the tragedy of a missed divine opportunity.

@Josh Shelton All of the above. The issue was not the absence of revelation but Christ was literally standing among them performing signs, teaching truth, and fulfilling prophecy. The issue was discernment. Their spiritual perception had been dulled by religious familiarity, political expectation, and hardened hearts. They were looking for a conquering Messiah who would overthrow Rome, but the Messiah came first as a suffering Savior. Because their expectations were misaligned with God’s redemptive timing, they misinterpreted the very visitation of God. When we lack understanding even now of Kairos - Gods timing we will be worshipping when we should be warring. It’s like a tale of two cities opening line “ It was the best of times and the worst of times but they are happening at the same time and I would hate for us to irresponsibly handle either.
Sacred Text, Permanent Freedom!
In Esther chapter 9, the text declares, “the month, which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day” (Esther 9:22). This is not merely historical commentary beloved; it is a prophetic pattern. God specializes in turning what was meant to break His people into the very evidence that confirms He has chosen them. The divine reversal in Esther’s day was not accidental; it was orchestrated by Heaven. It reveals how our God who steps into human impossibility and writes endings that no enemy can prevent. As God reversed the decree of destruction and established a decree of victory, He is reminding you that His sovereignty still overrides every earthly system, every plot, and every limitation of intimidation. Prophetically, this blessing speaks into your life: your time is now. The same anointing that shifted Esther from hiddenness to influence and Mordecai from the gate to governmental authority is being released over God’s people today. Divine reversal is not just about survival, not for us, it is about emergence, elevation, and manifestation. I need you to decree that God is moving you from sorrow into joy, from delay into fulfillment, from warfare into establishment, in this season. What was fighting you is about to favor you. What resisted you is about to release you. The prophetic blessing over your life is this: You are stepping into a God-appointed moment (Kairos) where heaven’s decree is louder than every earthly challenge. Walk boldly. Stand firmly. Expect swift divine movement. The reversal has already begun, and the evidence of God’s hand will soon be undeniable. Your season of divine fulfillment is not coming; beloved, IT IS HERE!
