Hey everyone, Quick question: When someone finds your business on Google and wants to book a job… can they do it instantly, or do they have to call and wait? I’m currently helping a few plumbers set up a simple system that turns Google searches into booked jobs automatically. To build my portfolio, I’m offering a few free setups in exchange for an honest testimonial. If you or someone you know could benefit from this, leave a comment or simply DM me.

That’s actually a good point. A lot of people will just move on to the next company if they can’t book quickly. Having an easy way to book right away could probably save a lot of missed jobs.

Haven’t started one yet, but I’m planning to soon. Looking forward to seeing what everyone recommends first.
🔧 Apprentice Tip of the Day
One habit that separates good apprentices from great ones: Always take a minute to **look at the whole system before touching anything**. When you walk into a job, try to identify: • What type of heating system it is (combi, system, regular) • Where the flow and return pipes run • Where the pump and expansion vessel are located • The current system pressure Understanding the layout first will make fault finding and installs much easier. A lot of problems get solved faster just by **reading the system properly**.

One thing I learned quickly is the best apprentices don’t rush to grab tools. The ones who step back and read the system first usually solve the problem faster. Understanding the layout makes everything else easier.
🔧 Apprentice Question
🔧 Apprentice Question One thing a lot of apprentices realise once they get on site is that the job is very different from what you learn in college. So I’m curious… What’s something you learned on site that college never really prepared you for? Could be: • a tool you had never used before • a type of heating system you’d never seen • dealing with customers • or just how things actually run on site Drop it below — it’s useful for the newer apprentices coming into the trade as well.

First time dealing with a real customer while trying to diagnose a problem. College teaches the system… but not how to explain what’s going on while someone’s standing there worried about their heating and the cost 😅 Learning to troubleshoot and communicate at the same time was a big on-site lesson.
