How Can You Not Absolutely Love Medieval History?
My first two stories in my 1800's era trilogy are with Beta readers, so I have been working on my spinoff story which is set mostly in the firts half of the 16th century. As I researched and gathered information to add to my story, I discovered a huge and singularly interesting piece of Scandinavian history that fits perfectly into the story timeline. The short and politically turbulant reign of Christian II of Denmark fits in perfectly with my protagonist's journey. Now I have a KIng in my story. How cool is that? I don't know which is more exciting; the discovery or the actual writing. Ah, history.... Waaaay too much fun!

Hello
Hi. I'm Teresa Wolf and I'm almost 3/4 of the way through an historical fiction trilogy set in the mid to late 1800's. Book 1 is with 4 Beta Readers, Book 2 is almost ready for beta Reading and Book 3 is a WIP. I also have a spin-off story about The Landsknecht Mercenaries and a woman's journey with them in the early 1500's. Originally, I had about 30,000 words written but my computer rudely lost most of it when my hardrive died. I've been rebuilding the story. I'm HERE because I love the Tudor and Elizabethan eras although I probably would never have survived them. I pitch fits when Hollyweird takes too many liberties and rewrites history or creates stupid costuming.

@Essa Mardini What I lost wasn't earth-shattering. Some was fan-fiction which I can duplicate. The Landsknecht story was almost totally narrative and needs to be rewritten anyway. The day before the drive died, my computer was acting weird. I copied my main manuscript onto a flashdrive. Some things had been copied off, but not the latest and greatest. I lost a lot of work BUT NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF. Whew! It was a setback, but it didn't kill me. The moral to that story? Always back up your work YOURSELF and don't trust automatic backups (which I never have). Had I backed up to the cloud, I would have saved everything but everyone would potentially have access. No thanks. I'm hard-core anti AI too. I plan on getting the human-created certification when I'm ready to publish... $10.00/book. Works for me!

I'm in Beta reading right now, so I don't know. You can get the certification through your membership with The Author's Guild.
