Athletes interested in representing Team USA must submit an application by the stated deadline. Once applications are received, the Pentathlon Performance Committee (PPC) will evaluate each athlete’s competitive history and overall profile. This includes a comparison of each athlete’s results against the Elite Performance Metrics (EPM), which serve as benchmarks for high-level performance across all five disciplines. The committee will also review the athlete’s past pentathlon performances to assess consistency, international competitiveness, and experience. In addition to reviewing past results, the PPC will place significant emphasis on performances at the 2025 Canadian National Championships, which will take place approximately one month before the World Championships. This event will carry more weight in the selection process than earlier competitions, as it offers the most up-to-date assessment of an athlete’s current fitness and competitive readiness. Final selection decisions will be based on the totality of an athlete’s results and demonstrated potential to perform at the highest level on the world stage.
