You make so many great points. The uncertainty about Social Security is giving a lot of people anxiety about the future. Like you, I came from a corporate job - and one that I grew to dislike over the years. Now, I'm 63 and I plan to continue working doing something I enjoy well into my 70s. Statistics show that keeping your brain engaged helps with longevity - it also keeps you feeling useful and connected. However, as you said in your video, we need to slow down the pace. Grinding away like we did in our 30s isn't good - but staying engaged at a pace that feels comfortable for us can actually be really healthy. I'm doing an episode for our show on Wednesday about the real numbers of what people are retiring with and, surprisingly, 25% of people have nothing saved up. And, the median number for those who HAVE saved is only $185k (not the $1M that everyone talks about). It's not so much what you have, it's what you need (as you stated, as everyone's expenses are different). Thanks for another good video, Sharon, and getting people to be thinking about this very important topic.

I have a hard time asking for help. I think it stems from being a boomer and being raised to be very self-sufficient. I don't mean that in a good way or as a brag. I think in many ways our generation often sees themselves as an island and we didn't learn the communication skills to confidently ask for help. Now, asking for the sale isn't hard for me. I am a pretty confident person in that area and when I know I have something to offer to people that will really help them, I have no problem at all conveying that. But, it's when *I'm* the one who needs help, that's a different story and I need to get better about that. I suffer from burnout occasionally because I fail to address this issue.
