I’m ready to talk about all of our concerns and daily situations!!
WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME TO THIS NEW AND AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS ALL BEHAVIOR ALL THE TIME. I am a parent of a child with disabilities, and my son Elijah has been the greatest blessing in my life. Early on in Elijah’s life I realized he was different but it never meant he was less of a child than anyone else it just meant he learned everything differently than other children. Elijah was not able to talk in full sentences until he was 8-10 years old and it was because of extensive years of OT/PT and Speech. Educationally, emotionally and personally my family and I struggled to understand Elijah’s needs and then we had to learn how to allow Elijah to teach us what his needs were. So if we fast forward to today we would now see that Elijah is about to be 26 years old at the end of April and we would also see that Elijah has graduated from college with his Bachelors degree with honors and he stayed on campus the entire time. After helping Elijah learn how to do every single thing in life and progressing my own educational journey to be able to help him, it dawned on me that I should help other parents and help their children and loved one’s who may face the same challenges Elijah did growing up with neurodivergence. So this is what pushed me to start my company ABC-CT, LLC which just stands for Advanced Behavioral Concepts in CT. I provide in-home supports as a DDS endorsed behaviorist and have been a master trainer for over 20 years helping to train over 650 schools in CT with the implementation of behavioral frameworks. I am almost done with my PhD in advanced human behavior and have also been a professor for the last 20 years helping to teach various subjects at a number of colleges. I truly want to just help people and help homes be successful environments of understanding. That is exactly why I do what I do and would love to share all of my expertise and my years of practice with you all. Please introduce yourself and tell us about what brings you here…
