5 contributions to The Authority Engine
I'm trying to Just Do It
I've had a youtube channel for what feels like a million years at this point and I have uploaded exactly zero videos! I'm a psychologist, so I understand that just starting is what's going to build momentum... and yet, here we are! The simplest thing to do would be repurposing the tons of video content I already have. But will that actually help me? Can that get me on the path to growing an audience and monetizing? I get super overwhelmed by all of the 'extra' stuff I need to do... like, what to put in the description and tags and links and doing all the optimizing and then I put it off until later. So, three years later....

@Des Dreckett the old videos are all face-to-camera. answering specific questions, explaining concepts, all mental health stuff. What do you mean by practicing and learning my trade?
Most coaches film what they find interesting. Their ideal client never finds them.
The Authority Engine is built on a different premise. Every video you publish should occupy a specific piece of territory that your ideal client is already searching for. Not content that you think is useful. Content built around the exact moment they're in - the frustration they can't name, the outcome they want but haven't said out loud, or the transformation they need to see proven before they'll move. We call these CAT Moments. Challenges - the daily friction that's costing them clients, time, or confidence right now. When you film a Challenge video, you become the person who finally articulates what they've been living with but couldn't explain. Aspirations - the business they want to be running but haven't given themselves permission to describe yet. When you film an Aspiration video, you close the gap between where they are and where they're going. Transformations - the before-and-after proof that the system works. Case studies, real numbers, client outcomes. When you film a Transformation video, you remove the risk. Objections disappear before the discovery call even starts. Every video in your Authority Estate maps to one of these three. If it doesn't, it doesn't get filmed. We work in six focused sessions a month. That's not a lot of time. Every hour of it should be building an asset that generates inbound enquiries - not content that entertains. For the room: Drop your niche and a C, A, or T below. I'll come back to each of you with a specific video title you can put into production this week.

@Des Dreckett I like it, but I'm immediately like "can I even claim that?!" 😂

@Des Dreckett I'm not sure i understand what this means 🤔
Should We Do This? 🤔
One of the fastest ways to trigger the algorithm is early engagement. I’m thinking about dedicating every Thursday to a community 'Power Day' where we like and comment on one specific "social" post from each member to help us all get more inbound enquiries. Who’s in? Should we start a weekly "Authority Boost" day to engage with each other's content?

I'm down. will ths include youtube?
YouTube isn't a social media platform anymore.
Nielsen confirmed it. YouTube is now the #1 media distributor in the US — ahead of Disney, Netflix, broadcast TV, and cable combined. And here's the part most coaches haven't processed yet: Over 45% of YouTube watch time in the US now happens on a television screen. Not a phone. Not a laptop. A living-room TV. Which means right now, somewhere, a prospect who fits your ideal client profile is leaning back on their sofa, watching a 15-minute video on a 55-inch screen - and deciding who the authority in your niche is. The question is whether that video is yours. When someone watches you on their TV, the same trust signals that made television advertising worth billions for 70 years transfer directly to you. You stop being a coach with a YouTube channel. You become a broadcast presence. The psychological effect on how warm they arrive at a discovery call is not the same as a 60-second scroll on Instagram. But most coaches are still producing content sized for a phone screen, paced for a social feed — for a platform they think their ideal client isn't on. The data says otherwise. Here's something worth having if you're speaking at events, networking, or meeting prospects in person. My good friend Claudio Campobassi from Skool Founders Lab just built a free Skool QR Code Generator - it turns your community URL into a QR code or custom smartphone wallpaper so you can share your community without spelling out a URL. Worth noting: YouTube now officially endorses QR codes as CTAs for TV viewers, because clicking a description link with a remote is impossible. The offline-to-online bridge just became a broadcast strategy, not just a networking trick. Worth 2 minutes to try: https://claudiocampobassi.com/skoolqrcode
