🎙️ CAPABILITY IS NOT CAPACITY | JOIN THE CONVERSATION
When your plate is already full and someone asks for one more thing, what’s your automatic response? A. “Of course!”, I’ll work out how afterwards. 😅 B. I say yes, but quietly resent it. C. I explain what would need to move. D. It depends entirely on who’s asking. Pop your letter below. If you’re comfortable sharing, what makes it difficult to respond differently? Elan and I are hosting our next From Insight to Action conversation on why capable people and teams still become overloaded. We’ll explore the expectations that build around being dependable, what others don’t see when we keep delivering, and how to make room for what we’re agreeing to. 📅 Wednesday, 30 September 🕐 13:00–14:00 SAST 📍 Google Meet Bring a situation you’d like us to unpack, leave a question in the comments, or come and listen. There’s no pressure to speak. 👉 Join us: https://meet.google.com/txu-ccwm-tdw

🎙️ CAPABILITY IS NOT CAPACITY | JOIN THE CONVERSATION
🌿 WHERE WOULD SUPPORT HELP MOST?
Sometimes the challenge is knowing what matters. Other times, you know exactly what matters, you’re just tired, distracted, or carrying too much. 😅 Vote for what feels most familiar right now. If you’d like to share more, tell us one small thing that would help. You don’t need a polished plan to join the conversation. Start where you are. 👇

I’ll go first 🌿 I voted “I need to slow down and recover some energy.” The follow-through option was a very close second. I do know what needs my attention, but I’m tired and sore, and trying to push through everything at once is making it harder to start. 😅 What would help me today is a proper break, then choosing one task to finish instead of trying to tackle the whole list. You’re welcome to share your letter, your story, or just one small thing that would help. 💚
🌿 A conversation worth continuing
Today’s High Performance Blueprint live on psychological safety became a really honest conversation about how differently people can experience the same team, leader or interaction. A leader may communicate in exactly the same way with five people, yet those five people may not experience that communication in the same way. Previous experiences, emotional state, personality, hierarchy and communication preferences all influence how safe an interaction feels. We also explored the effect of jokes and sarcasm. What feels harmless to one person may leave another person uncertain about whether it is safe to speak honestly, admit a mistake or challenge an idea. This does not mean leaders must walk on eggshells. It means teams need enough awareness and trust to clarify intention, acknowledge impact and repair communication when necessary. The full replay is available inside the High Performance Blueprint: REPLAY LINK A reflection to take with you: Has your communication ever been understood differently from how you intended it?

🌿 MONDAY CHECK-IN: What deserves your focus this week?
Monday is almost done. Before the rest of the week starts running away with you, take a moment to decide what you actually want from it. Not everything on your to-do list needs equal attention. Ask yourself: If I could make meaningful progress in just ONE area this week, what would make the biggest difference? Then make it specific. 🎯 My focus: ________ 👣 One action I will take: ________ 🚫 One thing I will stop allowing to distract me: ________ You don't need to have the whole week figured out tonight. You just need enough clarity to know where your energy is going next. Share yours below 👇 Let’s hold each other accountable this week.

🎯 My focus: Sustainable performance, being more intentional about where I put my time, energy and attention instead of trying to move everything forward at once. 👣 One action I will take: Protect focused time for the conversations, follow-ups and work that will genuinely move the business forward. 🚫 One thing I will stop allowing to distract me: The feeling that everything needs my attention at the same time. 😅 For me, sustainable performance isn’t about how much I can fit into a week. It’s about directing my capacity toward what matters most, following through, and still having enough of myself left for the rest of my life. That’s what I’m practising this week. 🌱
MAKE IT SMALLER 🌱
Yesterday we looked at what deserves your focus this week. Today, take whatever you chose and ask yourself: Have I made the next step small enough to actually do? Sometimes we get stuck because we’re looking at the whole journey instead of the next step. “Grow my business.” “Sort out my finances.” “Take better care of myself.” “Set better boundaries.” “Get back on track.” They might be important goals, but they’re not actions yet. So today, make it smaller. Instead of “work on my business” → send the three follow-ups you’ve been putting off. Instead of “look after myself better” → protect 30 minutes for yourself today. Instead of “set better boundaries” → have the one conversation you already know you need to have. Today’s task: My focus is: ________ My next small action is: ________ Then do that one thing. You don’t need to see the entire path before you start walking it. Small steps create evidence. Evidence builds momentum. Momentum creates change. 👇 What’s your next small action?

My focus is: building the business with greater focus and intentionality. My next small action is: complete the follow-ups already sitting on my list before adding anything new. I’m very good at seeing the whole picture and then trying to work on the whole picture at once. 😅 So my reminder to myself today is: I don’t need to move everything forward. I need to move the next right thing forward. One completed action creates far more momentum than ten half-started ones. 🌱
