Real food
Everyone talks about “healthy eating.”But the truth is… many people are simply making up their own rules. Real health isn’t about trendy labels. It’s about healthy ingredients. A lot of foods marketed as “healthy” are still highly processed. For example: • White sugar – heavily refined• White flour – stripped of nutrients• White rice – processed and lacking fiber I always recommend leaning more toward whole or brown foods where possible. Foods that are closer to how nature made them. Another big one people overlook: artificial sweeteners. Just because something says “zero sugar,” “diet,” or “low calorie” does not mean it’s healthy. Many artificial sweeteners are highly processed chemicals and long-term health concerns around them continue to be studied. And let's talk about store-bought cakes and cake mixes. Those boxes are filled with preservatives, processed oils, artificial flavors, and excessive sugar. If you want cake, make it the old-fashioned way with real ingredients so you actually know what you're putting in your body. Here’s another truth most people ignore: Your body was designed to get a large portion of its hydration from fruits. Fruits contain structured water, minerals, fiber, and enzymes that plain bottled drinks cannot replace. And pay attention to this:Real fruit has seeds. If a fruit has no seeds or has been heavily modified, it’s often been altered from its natural form. Before following health trends, ask yourself one simple question: Is this real food… or a manufactured product? Your body understands nature far better than chemicals.

SierraLeone loves going into the chicken run. She just lays in the sun and ignores the chickens. Even our Rooster Rex 🐓

Sometimes just do you 💫
This past Sabbath looked a little different… and honestly, it was exactly what my spirit needed. I stayed home. No rush. No noise. No performance. Just me, God, and the quiet work that centres me. I went out to the coop, cleared out the old bedding, laid down fresh hay, and covered part of the run with a tarp so my girls could have a warm, comfortable space for the cooler days ahead. It sounds simple… but it was deeply spiritual. There’s something about tending to the things God has entrusted to you — your home, your animals, your peace — that brings you back into alignment. Sabbath isn’t always about being in a building. Sometimes it’s about being still enough to hear God in the everyday tasks. In the soft moments. In the care. In the reset. I left that coop feeling lighter. More grounded. More grateful. May we all learn to recognise the holy moments hidden in ordinary work. And may God continue to bless the spaces we steward, inside and out. ✨💛

🐓🐾 SierraLeone & The Coop Crew — Pure Country Bliss SierraLeone — named after my grandfather’s birthplace — has this funny little obsession with the chickens. Every morning she stands at the glass door like she’s checking on her friends. Not barking, not fussing… just watching them like, “You lot alright out there?” And the sweetest part? When I let her into the coop, she doesn’t chase or show off. She just finds a sunny spot, stretches out, and melts into the ground like she was born for it. Honestly, I think she was yearning for that little bit of peace. The chooks accept her, she accepts them… and I’m just here playing host to the softest interspecies friendship ever. Life on this homestead is something else — a Rottweiler with ancestral roots vibing with a handful of chickens. You can’t make this up. Who knew the coop would be her happy place? 🌞🐾🐓

@Chasity Ford she loves them. Just as it gets dark and they're in their coop, she does her walk around the Coop to check for predators 🐕🔵
