This is lovely! You of course don't need to share your location, but i have to say, it's so toasty where I am, this photo makes me a little jealous! Nicely done!
June Community Photo Shoot!
📸 Community Photo Shoot #3 As always, we're photographing from wherever we are: this is a far-reaching community, so grab your camera and capture a moment from your life this weekend. No theme, no rules, just whatever's in front of you. To join: post your photo below with a comment. Location and backstory are totally optional: share as much or as little as you want to. Everyone's welcome to comment below and give each other feedback right here in the thread. Want your photo featured at next Saturday's Premiere Coffee Hour (Yes, normally they are on Friday, but this month it needed to be adjusted. Sorry for any inconvenience!)? That's where I pick a photo and do a full live edit, walking through exactly what I'd change and why (Or what the photographer is curious about changing!). Anyone who has jumped to the premiere level is eligible to be selected, so if you want a shot at it, make sure you're upgraded before you post. Can't wait to see where everyone's shooting from this weekend. 🌍 (A little note, if you are not in the premiere level, do not worry! We will not be using your work without permission or anything! Post with confidence!)

This Summer's Premium Upgrade
Chaplin's papers are in order. 🐾📘 In a few days, we're heading to out for some travel: Spain, France, and Italy on the road, one camera, one extremely well-documented and well traveled dog. I'll be shooting and teaching the whole way: real editing sessions, manual exposure breakdowns from active shoots, and the kind of street photography you don't get from a tour bus window. Launching soon ~ Summer Travels: Photography Vault ~ travel with me, my dog, and my camera to capture some of Europe's most beloved scenes. Follow along. We're excited to share this adventure and the photos we make along the way! 📍 (Note for all traveling photographers etc, I will be posting photos and guides once I have moved from the location as I suggest with all travelers posting their adventures)

@Kara Gannon I'mloving the natural light dancing on the wall. Great example of how important subjects are of course, but how much light changes a photo!
Pricing photo shoots
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to price photo shoots? I have a client who wants to do a shoot with herself and her horse. I also have to drive an hour there and an hour back home. I have some experience with horse photograpghy but have never done a paid job before, and I am not sure what to ask for in terms of pay.

Sorry for the delay! This is a great question and can be tough as we're getting started. First, include travel time and editing time in your rate. Also because location matters see what the going rate in your area is. (A photographer in LA is going to charge more than a photographer in Boise, just by default) Then knowing that this is a first paid job, know that your rate will be a bit under the local standard. Also, it will depend on if these are for example: marketing for the barn and you'll be photographing the facility and some horses. This would be very different from a few portraits for one person and their horse.
