Quick question, just out of interest...
If you could sell your eBook directly from your site, and readers could read it instantly in a private library (no downloads), would you use it?

So many readers have prefered apps or devices, and app specific preferences within them. I think you would limit your audience if readers couldn't access books the way they prefer. Disallowing downloads is appealing from a DRM perspective.
Lets be conscious of this
If you have a book on Amazon or any other platform and it’s not performing as well as you expected, here are a few key areas to review—along with practical solutions: 1. Reviews & Ratings, Are your reviews strong enough to build trust with potential readers? If your ratings are low or limited, it can significantly impact sales. Solution: Consider working with a marketing professional who specializes in book promotion. Share your current challenges and ask how they can help improve visibility and generate authentic, quality reviews. 2. Promotion Strategy, Have you actively promoted your book? If so, who handled it—an experienced professional or someone less specialized? And were the results satisfactory? Solution: - If you’ve tried promotion before without success, it may be time to work with a more experienced and trusted expert. Be transparent about your past efforts so they can adjust the strategy. - If you haven’t promoted your book yet, partnering with a reliable professional can make a significant difference in reaching the right audience. 3. Overall Book Quality Before publishing, it’s important to thoroughly review your book. Even small errors can affect reader experience and credibility. Solution: Revisit your manuscript for editing, formatting, and consistency. If possible, involve beta readers or a professional editor to ensure everything is polished. 4. Book Cover Design Your cover is often the first impression—does it look professional and align with your genre? Solution: Invest in a high-quality, visually appealing cover that clearly reflects your book’s niche and attracts your target audience. If anyone would like further clarification on any of these points, feel free to share in the group so we can discuss and support each other. If you’re unsure who to trust or where to start, you’re welcome to ask for guidance here as well. And if you’d like, I can also connect you with experienced professionals who can help—just let me know.

These are some great considerations. Also, expecting discovery on Amazon or any other platform without doing work outside those platforms is very often a losing prospect. Marketing pros can be helpful, if you have the money to invest. Leveraging your communities and driving engagement within your circles of influence are a great way to gain visibility. Your impact will be most effective and longer lasting with the people you have direct contact with.
