New gloves
Just picked up a new pair of gloves. Feels good to start fresh and put in the work again. For me, it’s not just about the gear, it’s about the mindset that comes with it. Every training, every save, every mistake is part of the process. Ready for what’s next.

Let's talk about height...
This is a touchy subject for alot of keepers, due to the fact many professional keepers and bigger clubs favour taller keepers with an extended reach. But let's flip the coin for a second, is height really that important? Many great keepers have been, let's say less that 'towering'; Jorge Campos being possibly the greatest example that springs to mind off the top of my head. Standing at 1.7m he represented Mexico from 1991-2003. You only have to do a quick youtube/google search to make your own mind up on him. The reason I bring this subject up is due to the fact that I myself, stand at 168cm or 5ft 6 inches (2 cm shy of the afformentioned Campos). I don't let this fact stop me whatsoever! What are your opinions on this? Is height the make or break factor to great goalkeeping?

This is a very interesting topic, and I think the truth lies somewhere in between. In modern football, it is definitely harder to get into a professional club if you don’t have the “ideal” height. Coaches and clubs often prefer taller goalkeepers because of their reach, presence, and advantage in aerial situations. That being said, I believe that in the long run, technique still outweighs height. Positioning, footwork, reflexes, decision-making, and reading the game are what truly define a top goalkeeper. Height can give you an advantage, but without strong fundamentals, it doesn’t mean much. I am 182 cm tall myself, which is below what many consider the “standard” today (often around 190 cm or more), and I still managed to build a professional career. That’s why I believe it is definitely possible to pursue a professional career even if you don’t meet that height benchmark. When you look at examples like Jorge Campos, it’s clear that exceptional ability and style of play can compensate for a lack of height. He is proof that being “different” doesn’t mean being at a disadvantage if your quality stands out. In my opinion, height is not a make-or-break factor. It’s an advantage, but not a requirement.
How Did Your Games Go?
Hey everyone, I just wanted to check in after this weekend’s games and hear how things went for you all. For me, it was a good one — we won 3:0 and I managed to keep a clean sheet. Always a great feeling, especially when the whole team works well together defensively. That said, every match still brings something to learn. There are always small details to improve, even on a positive weekend like this. How did you feel out there? Did you have a save that stood out, or a moment you’re still thinking about? I think it’s important we share both the good and the challenging parts, because that’s how we grow as goalkeepers. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

@Leah Bedford That really sucks, sorry to hear about your wrist 😔 Hope it heals up well and quickly. It’s frustrating when the team situation isn’t great either, but at least you’re still putting in the work training with the boys — that’ll only make you better.

@Xavier Stark Thanks! And honestly, that’s a solid performance against a top team. Coming back from 0–2 to 2–2 shows real fight — just unlucky in the end
