Hi, I am in crossroads with the embark RESP / student joint account for my 2 kids. The experience is n't great with their hefty fees now close to 1.9 percent. This company started with Heritage and now after 2 name changes, its now embark. When i joined in 2015, they said i will be getting back the commission fees that they charge which is build inside the fund as separate fees- close to $1100 per kid. Now my first one went to univ and now they are telling that was signed up with old company. Embark customer service say embark is managed by entirely new management and unable to honor old agreements with Heritage. I withdrew all of the amount due for my first kid. My second child is doing his 9th grade. I am vexed up and want to quickly move out of embark. With only 4 years for him to finish high school, can i manage the RESP via DIY mode? I am thinking of moving the available amount to Questrade RESP with 40% in VFV.TO, 30% in ZEQT, 10% SPFD Mulvihill Split-preffered, 10% QDAY, 10% HDIV Looking for feedback about the mix, @Gary Gill and folks! Thank you for your time!
