My first little video!
Well, it's day two of my community and I have 10 members! I am working on some videos. I am building the plane while I am flying it though. :) What questions do you have about Alaska? Here is a sneak peak at some video I got today of my husband snow blowing our driveway.

@Erastus Ndunda I also have a lot of teacher contacts and many foreign teachers that are looking to teach in Alaska. Iโ€™ll be working that angle when school starts back next week.

@Kay Smith Great questions. Some are easy to answer, others....it depends! I am happy to help guide you through researching different options! - You have to take 2 additional classes to get your Alaska Teaching License, but you have 3 years to do it. You have to take an Alaska History class and an Alaska Culture Class. They are offered lots of different ways and you can do them asynchronously if you like. - Expenses - It depends. Living costs and moving costs in a fly-in village is very different than living on the road, which is different than living in a larger city like Anchorage or Fairbanks. This is one of the reasons I started this community. There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. - Again, it depends. In general, yes you do have people to associate with at work and outside of work. If you are in a small village, it may take some time to develop friendships outside of work. In most cases you can be as social or anti-social as you want to be. But as a teacher, especially in a small village, you will be called upon to wear a lot of hats and involved in a lot of different things. - Schools in Alaska range from what most would consider a normal to large school in Anchorage and Fairbanks, even Juneau and Kenai. When you get into the village schools it can vary based on the size of the village. My current district is the size of New Jersey but we only have 385 students. Our largest school is PK-12 and has about 170 students and there is one teacher per grade PK-5th. Then next largest has about 60. There K-2 is a combined classroom and 3-5 is a combined classroom. Our smallest has 10 students PK-12th grade! There is only one certified teacher in the school and she is also the principal. Let me know what you are certified in and interested in!

Just getting up and running! I am so excited to share my experience of living in Alaska and helping those that want to either visit or live here. I am new to creating content, so please be patient and give me any pointers you may have. Stay tuned for more!
