The Great Pottery Throwdown
Hey y’all! Have you been able to watch the show? Guess what! I found it on You Tube! Here is the link for the first episode of Season 9 (just incase you could not watch it!). https://youtu.be/D04vahxvELA?si=4YXcf1Vi67PyCzU- I am editing my video of throwing the soup tureen- I got distracted by snow this past weekend! South Carolina NEVER gets snow! What a treat (well, it is when you never see it!)! How is everyone surviving the winter out there?! I enjoyed the snow, but hate being cold! One day is enough! Nothing like working with clay in the cold! I finally have heating and air in my home studio, but when it is freezing outside, my clay feels like ice! Post a picture of your latest make! If you are a beginner and have any questions, ask away! I am also including a snow picture from the window of my studio! Stay muddy! Paula

Just glazing some baby turtles for May Festival
Tureen
Hey Paula, I attempted a bowl on the wheel that turned into a tureen. Mine has an octopus and I also attempted a spoon or ladle and I mean attempt I don’t think it’s gonna make it.

First Great Pottery Throwdown Challenge!
Hey! Have you been watching TGPT? Well, I am addicted, so I decided to join in the fun (I wish I lived there so I could try out for the show - I would sooo do it!). The first challenge was to design and throw a Winter themed Soup Turine, ladle, and 2 matching bowls depicting something from your family. If you don’t know, we live on a farm and have lots of chickens, ducks, and geese (among other furry friends 😉 on the farm!). So, my soup turine depicts a few of my feathered friends on it! I have not thrown on my wheel in a bit, due to back surgeries, etc - was nice to see that I could do it! I hope it survives the kiln - not finished til it survives the glaze kiln! Crossing fingers and toes! Stay Muddy! Paula PS Made a video of the challenge - just need to edit it!

Does it have to be on the wheel?
What Claybody do you use
Hey! What is your "go-to" claybody that you love? How many of you out there have struggled a bit with missing Highwater since Helene? I do miss my Highwater favs. I am now using Kentucky Clays. I fire to Cone 6. I have found that Clay King never has my favorite , but Brian Fort Pottery always does (he is in Augusta). Don't get me wrong, I do love Clay King! They have an amazing staff and lightning fast shipping (you order today, it arrives tomorrow!). My favorite Kentucky Clay would be either Dark Star or Speckled Turtle. I love the speckles (can you tell?). Share your favorites - I am always wanting to hear what others use and why. Stay Muddy, Paula

Yes It has a heart shaped opening so you can hang it on the wall or place it on a table top.
