Hi ladies ! My name is Susana Pereira, founder of Light on Life. I am deeply passionate about the transformative journey from conception to birth and early parenthood. My work is guided by the intention of bringing more awareness, facilitating access to evidence-based information, and offering embodied experiences that help women reconnect with their bodies, intuition, and innate power to birth — contributing to the prevention of birth-related trauma. For over 10 years, I have been supporting women and families as a doula, birth photographer and videographer, I am also a Hatha Yoga instructor specialised in Yoga and Mindfulness for pregnancy and birth, and Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. I photograph and film birth as a way of witnessing, honouring, and preserving the strength, sensitivity, and truth of the birthing experience. I believe birth imagery can be a powerful tool to validate women’s experiences, integrate birth memories, support healing and empowerment, and help shift the paradigm from fear-based narratives to trust in women’s bodies. I am based in Lisbon, and I support families in the Lisbon area and within a 1-hour driving distance (around 100 km), including Cascais, Sintra, Oeiras, Ericeira, Peniche, Aroeira, Costa da Caparica and Setúbal.
