Hey everyone! I thought I would share my daily meditation practice. So many people give up on meditation because they think they have to force themselves into a strict 5:00 AM morning routine. For me? It’s all about finding a time that actually works for my lifestyle. My Daily Routine: - The Time: Either right after work (to transition out of "work mode", I work from home so need to switch off) or right before bed (to clear my brain for sleep). - The Length: 10-15 minutes a day minimum. - The Goal: Washing off the day's stress and hitting the reset button. How I actually do it: 1. I find a quiet spot, change out of work clothes, and find a guided meditation on Insight Timer or YouTube. The guided meditation was crucial in the beginning as I found it hard not to let my mind drift. Now I can set a timer for 10-15 minutes and pop some nice relaxing music on. 2. I close my eyes and focus on my breathing. I take 3 nice, deep breaths which is my signal to my body to relax. 3. If my mind starts looping about work emails or tomorrow's to-do list, I don't fight it. I acknowledge the thought, let it go, and bring my focus back to my breath. The key is to find the slot in your day where you need a mental reset the most. Whether that is 5 minutes or 15 minutes, the best time to meditate is the time you’ll actually stick to.
