Biggest attraction for anyone looking to upgrade to Odoo 20 from an older version is the builtin MCP agent. That literally works like your software development assistant and can roll out features quickly, its an entire IT department!

Odoo just tried to ramp up their pricing by must having employee as "Light Users" previously we were able to create employees without a backend user and only paid for backend users. Employees if they needed to see their payslip and stuff, we used to use free portal user for it and customize Portal User's dashboard to show payslips etc. Now lots of companies using Odoo that were running their accounting and HR/payroll in Odoo, their licensing cost will shoot up. Let me know what you guys think about this change in Odoo 20 and would it be the biggest hindrance for many Odoo customers to stay on the older versions?

We at InfraNext (https://infranext.co) are proud sponsors of Odoo 20 business Show at Pearl Continental hotel on 12th November, 2026.
