I need this
We need to talk.
Over the next few posts, we’re diving into the raw, real, beautiful beast that is Over-the-board chess. Not the fast-food dopamine-hit you get from blitzing online — but the real stuff. The kind that builds skill, breaks ego, and rewires your brain. Let’s start here: Online, you can survive on tricks. You can win on speed. You can pretend to know what you're doing and let the mouse do the rest. But classical OTB? You’re fully exposed. Every move echoes. Every choice matters. This is where you actually learn to play. Ask yourself: When was the last time you sat still, focused, and let your ideas unfold over hours — not seconds? Drop your answers in the comment section!

I had two OTB games last week at the club both were over an hour long. It is totally different from online chess

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS ON ONE OF YOUR MOST IMPRESSIVE ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE CHESS GRIND! ♟️🔥
21 days. Zero blunders (or at least, fewer than ever before). That wasn’t just a challenge — it was a transformation. You showed up. You focused. You pushed through the tilt, the time pressure, the tactical fog. And now here we are — stronger, sharper, and more resilient on the board. I participated too… but honestly? You’re the ones I’m impressed by. Wow. Just wow. 🙌 We didn’t just complete a challenge. We built a habit. A mindset. A community. Let’s carry that energy forward. Keep showing up. Keep training smart. And above all, keep enjoying the beautiful grind of getting better, one move at a time. Let’s go, team. 💪♟️
