What’s the best ways to becoming an authorized user? I’m 23 with multiple cards but my credit age averages out to 1 year and I want to boost that becoming an authorized user before going for business credit
Being an AU requires trust from both parties. Both can be hurt by the actions of the other. Don’t take it lightly. Jackie laid out a good strategy to follow. But first and foremost is trust.
@Banetta F McDaniels Banetta, I just went online to see if AmEx has done something different but I did not find any reference to the send split account online.. that’s why in the past I’ve always used the app because that’s the only place it works for me. To answer your question of cash advance. It is not treated as such and so far as I was treated it’s just like a purchase. Again the recipient you sent it to may have a tax issue. One must consult a tax expert on that. Insofar as my wife and I, we have never been 1099ed on any of these transactions. We both have AmEx cards and share a few AU’s, but have never been bothered by big bro in moving money between ourselves. After all, we have to pay it back. It ain’t income. I hope that’s useful to you and others.
I’ll be having one of those soon. I have the Amex rewards and the platinum but the Cash card gives better utilization of points one can use for lodging, flight’s etc.
