When we talk to our students about their martial arts journey, we paint the picture of becoming a black belt. That’s a BIG goal. But the WHY behind it is even bigger. What would achieving it mean to your child? New skills? Confidence? The pride of being able to say, “I worked for this. I did it!” In this video, I explain five steps you can use to help your child work towards a goal—in martial arts, at school or in everyday life: 1️⃣ Make it BIG! Paint a picture of what they want to achieve. 2️⃣ Find their WHY. Help them understand why it matters to them. 3️⃣ Take MASSIVE action. Make a plan and put it into practice. 4️⃣ Review progress. Are they hitting their targets? 5️⃣ Change the approach. If something isn’t working, what could they do differently? Every achievement helps children build belief in themselves—and gives them experience they can bring to their next challenge. 💬 After watching, ask your child: “What’s your big goal, and why does it matter to you?” Share their answer below—we’d love to hear it!
