Spacing Rules in 4 out
Hi Coaches, I am wanting to do a period today in practice on spacing rules with drives. Would you recommend starting the ball in the action spot and having the defender trail the play to give a small advantage? I want to focus on the half court as opposed to doing the full court/outlet/race zone. We have all 3 Rose Actions in.

Toughest Actions To Guard In LockLeft
Coaches, What are some actions that have given you the toughest time to guard in LockLeft, and what teaching points have you used to combat it?

High post right elbow side. Drives from right action spot into middle not pushing them away from hoop. For the drives we just kept working or “leaning” into our daily wolf work. For the high post, honestly we didn’t stop it, we just scored more points then them
Update..and all hands on deck....maybe
The HC job that I had interviewed for was given to someone else who was on campus full-time. While I was disappointed, I knew God was working. I have continued to invest in myself as a coach, in order to prepare myself for the next opportunity. Well.....last week the person that got the job over me resigned, effective immediately. The AD has reached back out to me and wants to talk. So, with all that said, 1. God is good, 2. IF I get it, there is pretty small window to prepare so I will take ALL the advice I can get. I again want to say to everyone how grateful I am for all the advice and kind words I received when I thought I didn't get the job.

If you interviewed for said position already chances are you will be better equipped this time around. Believe in yourself! 1. God is always good, we just need to get on His timeline. 2. make sure it’s what God wants and not what we want. Good luck !!
What to do when you don't get the job?
I interviewed for the HC job of where I have been the assistant for the last two seasons after the HC resigned. That was about a month ago. I've spoken to the AD several times, and he told me that they still haven't made decision. They want someone to be on campus full-time, however everyone that interviewed for the job doesn't and would not work on campus if given the position. While he has told me that I am still a strong candidate, he still has concerns about my work schedule(I teach at a public school about 45 minutes away). They are not going to make a decision until school starts back. I guess my question is what would you guys do if you were me and didn't get the job?

@Ryan Johnson I just went through this situation about a month ago, for a second time. I was 15 year varsity assistant at this high school. 2 years ago I was 1 of 2 finalist to become HC, but I wasn’t hired. The coach they hired I was friendly with so he wanted me to still be the assistant, so I stayed and flourished (this is when I found Savi coaching) We had two really good seasons, then this past summer the HC took a new job. Long story short, I got an interview but not a second one this time around despite the current team/players, parents, and alumni all in my corner. I know, for a fact, I am a better coach than the guy they hired because I have scouted him for the last five seasons. So I took a couple days to process and reflect. Like I tell all my players, next play or what’s next. Control what you can control which is your thoughts and actions and remember people make bad decisions all the time.

@Douglas Worsley couple things I’ve learned along with the way “if you don’t possess it, you can’t give it” & “preach what you practice”
Follow into fan
File under stacking actions. 5 out- top has ball-moves it to left action spot and follows (basket/behind arc), ball is looking for basket cut, if no pass it flows into fan action. Anyone have success with starting your HC offense with this? @Mark Cascio

@Karson Hembree last nights practice, we did some tinkering around. In most games we have mismatch at the “5” and ghosting really gets your guy open. Maintaining our space is the next step. 1. ghost split fan 2. Ghost fingers (lock stays in corner) ghost screen to action spot
