I turned 63 in January. I had spine surgery number 3 & 4 back in January. I have not gone back to work due to all of the physical problems that I now have. My employer paid me until the end of June, 2026. I’ve hired a law firm to file and represent me in my SS DISABILITY CLAIM. As I don’t have income may I file for regular SS ? Must I wait a certain amount of time as my disability claim is submitted ?

@Ed Weir - would the reduction that you speak of be permanent or just covering the months that SS was received prior the disability kicking in ? I don't want to suffer a PERMANENT reduction as I can hold off in filing for SS. I've hired a lawyer to file my DISABILITY claim. Thank you very much & I must say that I really enjoy you on Facebook !!!
