🏆 Honored Beyond Words 🖤📸
I am incredibly honored to receive the 2026 Community Signature Photography Impact Award. This recognition means so much because it reflects the heart behind everything I do—not just taking photographs, but helping people see themselves with confidence, authenticity, and purpose. When I created Photography by Cristal, my dream wasn't simply to capture beautiful images. It was to create a welcoming space where people feel seen, celebrated, and remembered. To everyone who has trusted me with their story, stepped in front of my camera, supported my communities, or encouraged me along this journey—thank you. This award belongs to all of us. A heartfelt thank you to David R, Fatima Teixeira, Rositsa (Ro), and Ref Z for organizing such a creative and inspiring Community Signature Battle. It has been an incredible experience connecting with so many amazing people and communities. Here's to continuing to help people show up as their authentic, confident selves—one photograph at a time. 💛 📸 Authenticity. Confidence. Connection. Impact. @Ossie Osmond @James Humecky @David R

Waking Up with Clarity, Confidence, and Hope
This morning I woke up feeling something I haven’t felt in a long time—clarity, confidence, and genuine hope for the future. Seven months ago, I started building this community. I didn’t have all the answers. I was learning new technology, new platforms, new skills, and stepping far outside my comfort zone. Some days felt exciting. Some days felt challenging. But I kept showing up. Over these past seven months, I’ve met incredible people from all over the world. I’ve learned things I never imagined I would learn. I’ve watched members grow, businesses grow, confidence grow, and friendships form. Today, I realized something: growth doesn’t always happen in giant leaps. Sometimes it happens one conversation, one lesson, one connection, and one day at a time. Looking back, I’m grateful for every person who has been part of this journey. Looking forward, I’m excited for what’s next. If you’re building something right now, keep going. The days when you don’t see the progress are often the days the foundation is being built. Today, I’m choosing gratitude, confidence, and hope. Thank you for being part of this journey with me. ❤️

💛 I Got Banned from a Community… and It Hurt
I got removed from a community this week by the owner because I accidentally broke the self-promotion rules multiple times. I made a mistake. Actually, I made the same mistake more than once. It hurt. A lot. I never intended to disrespect anyone's community or create extra work for the owner. I genuinely misunderstood the guidelines and kept getting it wrong. Something I don't talk about often is that I have a learning disability. Sometimes I struggle to process or remember instructions and social expectations. It's not an excuse, and I take responsibility for my mistakes, but it is part of my reality. I felt embarrassed, sad, and disappointed in myself. But I'm sharing this because I know I'm not the only one who has made mistakes, misunderstood something, or felt like I didn't fit in. This experience reminded me that being human means getting things wrong sometimes. It means apologizing, learning, and continuing forward with a little more wisdom and a lot more compassion for ourselves and others. I'm still here. I'm still building. I'm still learning. And if you've ever felt like you messed up, got rejected, or didn't understand something everyone else seemed to get—you're not alone. 💛

@Cristal Vancarson Somrtimes community owners, administrators, and moderators tend to be overly serious, reactive and forgetful of the reason we are all here. Just a couple of hours ago I did a similar thing. I shared the same post in several groups. The post promoted my two communities with links to each. I posed in about ten communities, nine I knew for certain allowed such posts, and one I included by mistake did not. The community owner contacted me and graciously, but firmly, let me know about the rule(s) I was breaking. She told me I did not have to remove the post (she had not just deleted it out of hand) but the message in the subtext was as clear as a bright summer's day: "Don't do it again." I went directly to the post and edited it to meet her rules. I actually felt good about doing so and I will recommend her community whenever the opportunoty presents itself. She kept an active user: ME. The community owner in your case shot themself in the proverbial foot. A few caring words might have resolved the situation with them, too, keeping a positive, caring, and motivating member: YOU! How much effort will they be taking to replace you with someone far less caring or engaging? The Seinfeld show (you may remember it) had an episode about a man selling wonderfully delicious soup that people lined up to buy. He had, however, a set of nearly impossible rules and if you broke one he refused to sell you any soup, "No soup for you!" Unfortunately, too many community owners seem to think what they offer is world class soup. Often it is not!
