🌕 FULL STRAWBERRY MOON IN CAPRICORN — 29/30th JUNE 2026
Your cosmic midyear review has arrived. Tonight's full moon has a name as beautiful as it is meaningful — the Strawberry Moon, named by indigenous Algonquin tribes to mark the season when wild strawberries ripen. It's a moon about honouring what is ready to be harvested in your life. And right now, under Capricorn's steady gaze, the universe is asking you a very direct question: What have you actually been building — and is it still what you want? 🌍 The science bit A full moon happens when the Earth sits between the Sun and Moon, and the Moon's face is fully illuminated. Tonight's is a micromoon — the Moon is near its furthest point from Earth, so it appears slightly smaller and softer in the sky than usual. Don't let that fool you though. The energy is still very much present. Look for it rising after sunset with a gorgeous golden glow — it may appear larger and more amber-toned on the horizon due to the atmosphere bending the light. Worth stepping outside for. ♑ The astrology — Full Moon in Capricorn The Sun is currently in Cancer — the sign of home, heart, and emotional nourishment. The full Moon sits directly opposite in Capricorn — the sign of structure, discipline, ambition, and long-term goals. This opposition creates a beautiful tension between how you feel and what you've built. Between the heart and the hustle. Capricorn energy is earthy, grounded, and no-nonsense. It doesn't deal in wishful thinking — it deals in evidence. So this full moon is essentially holding up a mirror and saying: look at your results. Not to shame you, but to show you the truth. There are some other big players in the sky right now worth noting: 🔁 Mercury stations retrograde TODAY — right alongside this full moon. This is a moment for reflection, not rushing into decisions. Review, revisit, reconsider before acting. 🌫️ Neptune is squaring this moon — which can blur the line between dreams and delusion. This is a nudge to be honest with yourself. Where have you been romanticising a situation rather than seeing it clearly?

I was so grateful to be off work last night and have a small fire. I did some reflection and made moon water (for use at a later date) I didn't see your post until tonight, I will have to try this ceremony another time although I feel I touched on this theme 💜

Hot Weather and Slowing Down
This heatwave here in the UK has certainly felt extreme. We're just not a country that's really set up for these temperatures! One thing it has made me appreciate, though, is the life I've built. I've been able to slow down, listen to my body, and only do what's really necessary. We're lucky to have a big, mature birch tree in our garden that creates the most wonderful patch of shade for our family. The difference in temperature is incredible as soon as you step beneath its branches. It reminds me just how valuable our trees are—not just for wildlife, but for us too. I've attached some photos, before the sun rises above the tree. I've enjoyed the sunshine, but after a very hot night and not much sleep, I have to admit... I'm quite looking forward to a drop in temperature! Over the past few days I've seen a few clients, worked on my Self-heal mini-course, read a few chapters of books, and even managed the occasional afternoon nap. It feels like nature has been reminding me to work with the season rather than against it. How have you found the heat? Have you been loving it, or counting down until the cooler weather returns? And I do wonder... are air conditioning companies in the UK suddenly going to be the busiest ever? 😄🌿

I am not a summer person. Where I live it gets really hot and humid and it's the humidity that is really hard for me. I prefer the other seasons and feel more vibrant and alive in the fall. Summer makes me want to hibernate 🤣
🦉 Barn Owl Magic 🦉
I'm on a little mini break in the Lake District at the moment, and what a beautiful part of the world it is. Rolling hills, ancient trees, lakes, rivers and streams around every corner. It's a vast contrast to the Norfolk Broads, where you can see for miles with nothing interrupting the view. Here, every winding path reveals something new—hidden viewpoints, moss-covered rocks, cool woodland glades beneath thick tree canopies, ferns carpeting the ground, steep hills and valleys, wildflower meadows... and, of course, a cream tea stop at the end of a walk! Last night, James and I escaped for an evening stroll while his mum watched the children. We were treated to the sight of a barn owl hunting over the hillside just beyond us. What a privilege. We watched her glide silently over the craggy rocks, disappearing below the horizon before rising again with a mouse in her talons and heading back towards a nearby barn. She repeated this three times while we stood and watched, knowing there were likely hungry chicks waiting for her return. Barn owls really are magnificent birds. Their creamy white feathers stand out beautifully against the green landscape, and that distinctive heart-shaped face makes them instantly recognisable. A few fun facts: 🦉 Barn owls can hunt almost entirely by sound, even in complete darkness. 🦉 Their flight is virtually silent thanks to the unique structure of their feathers. 🦉 A family of barn owls can consume thousands of rodents in a single year. 🦉 Unlike many owl species, barn owls often hunt during daylight hours, particularly around dawn and dusk. 🦉 Their heart-shaped facial disc helps funnel sound towards their ears, making them incredibly effective hunters. I didn't take any photos because I was too busy enjoying the moment. James and I deliberately leave our phones behind on walks whenever we can. It's amazing how much more you enjoy the moment, when you are not trying to take a photo of it. So instead, I've borrowed a few images to share the beauty of these birds.

I have Barred Owls that live in my forest, they are amazing! They have a very distinctive call. I love all of the owls, they're probably my favorite bird of prey, but I also have Hawks and they're awesome too...oh wait, do Vultures count? They don't actually kill anything they just clean up the mess, that's pretty amazing!
🌿 Herbs for the Nervous System 🌿
Yesterday we spoke about the nervous system and how our ancient hunter gatherer bodies were designed for short bursts of stress followed by rest, safety, and connection. And this got me thinking about the quiet role plants have always played in helping humans return to calm. Long before pharmacies and modern medicine, people sat around fires drinking infusions of flowers, leaves, berries, and roots — not simply as “treatments”, but as rituals of comfort, regulation, and care. There’s something deeply healing about the process itself. The kettle boiling. The scent rising from the cup.The act of slowing down long enough to tend to yourself. Your nervous system notices all of it . Here are 10 beautiful plants traditionally used to gently support the nervous system through teas and infusions: 🌼 Chamomile – perhaps the most well known calming herb. Traditionally used to ease tension, soothe digestion, and support sleep. 🍋 Lemon Balm – a gentle nervine from the mint family often used to reduce stress, calm overwhelm, and lift the mood. 🌳 Linden (Lime Blossom) – soft, comforting flowers traditionally used for anxiety, tension, and restlessness before sleep. 🌿 Hops – often associated with sleep support and helping calm a busy, overstimulated mind. 🌹 Rose – emotionally soothing and heart-opening. Rose tea can feel comforting during grief, stress, hormonal shifts, or emotional exhaustion. 💗 Red Clover – traditionally used to support women’s health and hormonal balance, especially during times of transition. 🍃 Milky Oats / Oatstraw – nourishing for those who feel frazzled, burnt out, emotionally depleted, or “wired but tired.” 💜 Lavender – calming, aromatic, and often supportive for anxiety, tension, and sleep. 🌱 Passionflower – traditionally used for an overactive mind, anxious thoughts, and difficulty winding down. 🍒 Hawthorn – best known for supporting the heart and circulation, but also deeply grounding and calming for many people under stress. Some herbalists use it to support emotional regulation and nervous system resilience.

lately I've been drinking mugwort with either lemon balm, rosemary or thyme added to it depending on my mood.
