How should pilots be trained?
Hi, I hope you’re all doing well. Now that things have calmed down again, I’d like to continue being here for you and help with your careers, questions, or just have some good conversations. Here in Norway, one of the major flight schools is facing bankruptcy, and it made me think about something: Flight schools often rely on students who can afford the high tuition fees. If you have the money, you can become a pilot, whether you’re truly suited for the role or not. On the other hand, Norway offers an ab-initio pilot training program funded by the government. You have to pass some tests, and if you do, the entire ATPL training is covered, with no bonding or commitments afterward. Both approaches have their pros and cons, but I’m curious what you think: Should more countries offer pilot training through universities, like other higher-education programs, or should it remain the responsibility of commercial flight schools?

That's a good question! For people who want to become pilots, it's best that the government offers it. But on the other hand, for business, it's best that they don't. If you ask me, I think that if you really want to become a pilot, you will save up the money to go to school.😄
Thank you!
Hi guys, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for being a part of this community. So far, we’ve established some great conversations, created specific teaching content, and grown from 0 to 13 members in just a few weeks. Over the last few days, the personal time I’ve been able to invest here has dropped quite a bit, mainly due to a lot of other things happening at this time of year. That said, my goal is to keep this going. The most important thing this community needs in order to thrive is growth. The more members we have, the more naturally conversations will flow. This group already contains a huge amount of competence, from experienced pilots to instructors and drone operators, and I’m sure there are many more people out there who could benefit from getting access to this knowledge. For that reason, my main focus right now is growth, while still keeping conversations going and continuing to release new lessons. Thank you so much for being here, and I truly hope we can build something special with this project.

Nice to meet you :D
What do you really want to do?
Just out of curiosity: If money weren’t a factor, meaning you wouldn’t need to work for it anymore, what would you choose to do? Would you still do what you’re doing now, or something else?
