He said yes
Today for the very first time, I pitched $100k for a yearlong legacy book mentorship to a current client. He had already paid $10k upfront earlier this year for a six-session clarity intensive, which concluded today. Before I mentioned next steps, he asked me if there was any way we could continue working together. He said yes, and money doesn’t matter to him. But his wife is sensitive to that sort of thing, so they’ll have a conversation between now and Friday morning, when he either says yes officially or … maybe not. I’m betting on yes. Among other things, I was inspired by Graham’s clause that he only accepts a wire transfer, so I was bold and wrote that in the contract. If I can do that continually with new clients going forward, that would be awesome. No more Stripe fees. Btw, the offer wasn’t “perfect,” as GC would say, but I put it out there and he was on board. If he says yes officially, it will be life-changing. $10k is now my base, thanks to our challenge. Plus, I suddenly have a few other interested folks in my experience who are reaching out. It’s a good sign. I have seen that if I pursue something over here, the universe (etc.) will provide something from over there. I hope this post is inspiring. If I can do it, you can too.

@Max T Thanks again. Is that Graham AI you're using or something else? Funny thing about the visibility trap. I was remembering Graham telling me to create a YouTube channel, etc. It was in response, I think, to the chasing clients vs. attracting clients idea. How do I attract clients without the hustle? I started looking into Option A (ACH/Direct Debit), but my AI's instructions made it look complicated, so I backed off. Confirming the math: $100K is for 12 months, and $10K/month for 12 months too. It's a bit of steep markup for the payment plan (20%), so I figure if it comes down to using Stripe, I would eat the cost of Stripe fees. It didn't cross my mind to tack on $300 for that option. But if my payment plan markup is so steep, I don't need to tack on another fee. I do plan to restructure my schedule immediately too. If I can get one or two others at the 100K level, that would be so good. My longtime goal has been 500K. Now I know to sit with the uncomfortable silence and be patient. On a side/related note, I have another prospect, not for mentoring but for ghostwriting, who plans to get back to me tomorrow. Someone from the 10K challenge. We met on Friday and she asked me a question that I hadn't considered before: What if we're working together and it suddenly is clear to either of us that it's no longer a good fit? What's the exit plan? I didn't have a good answer for her in the moment, but I looked at my contract and realized it could be better, so my AI has been helping me with that. After lots of back and forth this weekend, I now have an asset that I will send to her momentarily to help ease her mind as she makes her decision. It's been a busy weekend!

Sharing this because I opened this up here earlier. Three months later, after a few delays and a "let's start after Thanksgiving," he said how about I send you a good-faith deposit? So I finally got the 10K today, the first payment of a yearlong 10k/month package.
Check In & Group Longevity
Hey Everyone, First I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. What wins have you had? What things do you feel are blocking you? Second, being that this group has largely been inactive I’m trying to think through the longevity of the group. If we could consistently have 10-15 ppl interacting I could get guest speakers to come and help/teach on things relevant to us. Things like: thought leadership, identity, unique ability, collaboration, group coaching, public speaking, how to run a business, and more. Just trying to gauge where we are.

@Ben Patton I’m open to you opening this up.
Check in
How is everyone doing? I’ve had to pause everything and go back and start looking for a fulltime job. So not exactly excited about anything right now or making any progress. I’ve learned a ton and think I’ll be able to do this in the future but just exhausted too many resources getting to this point and need to find work quickly. @Stanley Dankoski did you hear back from the large offer you made? Still happy to schedule weekly meetings and keep in touch/keep each other on the journey

Yes, he gave me another verbal yes a couple of days ago. He wants to start in September. I suggested we get things squared away by the end of August so we can have our first meeting in early September. I haven’t heard back from him yet, but he typically takes a while to get back to me anyway. If it’s official, it would likely be 10k per month for a year.
August 10 11AM EST Weekly Zoom Meeting
Weekly group meeting open to all who can join. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83805459738?pwd=3JwxLXP1yg8iOwL3OUjJYBOQj1G33Z.1 I was also thinking about some options for us to consider to help structure the meetings. These are a few that came to mind, and I'm interested to hear other ideas too. - Hot Seat / Spotlight: Similar to Graham's rapid-fire, high-level VIP session coaching. Each person asks their own highly specific question to the group for feedback. Spotlighting a few members each week for a deeper dive allows the entire group to share any breakthroughs by observing and participating in the feedback process. - Boardroom / Mastermind: A few members share a "10-minute tactic" of something that is currently working well in their business. After sharing, the spotlighted member gets the group’s input on their "biggest challenges and opportunities". - Focused Case Study: Instead of having everyone answer a general question, we can focus a meeting on one specific strategy / principle / framework / etc (e.g. "How to run your first 5-day challenge"). The group then takes time live to brainstorm the specific implementation for their own business and how they can track/report their results. - Weekly Accountability Meeting: Perhaps a separate call for a shorter WAM element. Peer support and accountability are fundamental disciplines of success. Members can quickly report what they've successfully completed, and what they're having trouble with, to keep everyone accountable to the group.

Did anyone show up?
Sold Out Coach Event
Hey all, I just talked with my friend John Meese and he would love to lead a discussion here for us on August 19th at 11am EST on his new book "Sold Out Coach: Exactly How to Earn $10K+ per Month Group Coaching 90 Minutes per Week" The book is 9 dollars on Kindle and 111 pages. So pretty short. If you would like to attend I would love to get at least 10 people in this community committed to that call before confirming with him we can do that time. The thought is that we could discuss the book beforehand, so maybe at 11am EST on Monday the 17th for those who can come. Then we would have more to talk through at the call on Wednesday with John. Let me know if you would like to attend and/or if you have any other questions.

I would love to see a replay. I am unavailable that week because my daughter and I are camping.
