One day I just decided I was done pre-programming my own workouts (after I was done with college track) Definitely not saying it's always better for everyone, but it works for me and I enjoy my training a lot more now If you look at my training overview it might look like I follow some type of program, but it's more like a template of qualities & principles that I try to execute, which make it easier to effectively progress toward my goals Obviously you need systems, but documented programs predetermining every single set, rep, intensity, and exercise isn't always what will work the best for YOU, especially when training for ELITE performance You don't want to undercut yourself OR bite off more than you can chew because they could ultimately lead to precious time being wasted There's only a perfect program under perfect conditions and we NEVER have perfect conditions So we must be able to adjust on the fly! I'm thinking of creating an easy to follow guide of principles that performance training individuals can follow to sustain long term health, be more fit, treats root issues not just symptoms, and applicable for all experience levels.
