So I have a hard time making sidechain in Logic Pro because i don't really know how to do it. I know there's a way of doing it with the compressor but it feels weird to create a ghost track and route it through a compressor. I love the plugin that you show in the courses, the kickstart plugin. But it's paid. Do you have any suggestion for a plugin that is just like that, simple but also free?

Hey everyone, I’ve been struggling to get my kick and bass to sit well together in the mix. Every time I listen back, they either clash or the low end feels muddy, and I lose that punchy, clean sound I’m going for. I’m mainly working on house music in FL Studio, but I imagine the principles are similar across genres and DAWs. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: • Sidechain compression (but maybe I’m not dialing it in right?) • EQing the bass to make room for the kick’s frequencies • Playing with different bass sounds, but I’m still not happy with the results Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or techniques they use to make their kick and bass work together better?
