On again off again Trump so frustrating
Does Trump not see the Iranian regime laughing at him? This on again off again is so frustrating. Quite frankly im getting so tired of this. Israelis are stressing, waiting for the sirens to go off, high alert and then they he announces that an agreement is close AGAIN. Please pick a strategy and stick to it. Im just sorry for poor Iranians. If Israelis are frustrated I can only imagine how frustrated Iranians are.

@Dave Happy Specific and critically-important precision missiles, not munitions in general. This is now a bit dated, but CSIS has analyzed these specific classes of munitions: https://www.csis.org/analysis/last-rounds-status-key-munitions-iran-war-ceasefire Compare that to the munitions estimated to be required for one week of a China-US conflict over Taiwan (CSIS notes that requirements would only grow with each additional week): https://www.csis.org/analysis/united-states-prepared-war-china The Reuters article I linked earlier shows that other options were available: "One of the sources said the drawdown of the ATACMS and PrSM stockpiles reflected a decision by the Trump administration to avoid riskier ways of attacking Iranian targets, such as by using piloted aircraft to drop bombs. Because these weapons allow the military to attack targets from a distance, analysts say they would be valuable in a war against an adversary with strong air defenses, such as China. They have been used to strike targets inside Iran, according to a March report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)." This decision was made to reduce the risk of loss of life of US service members. Other options are available, but now complicated by the interceptor shortage. Munitions were brought into CENTCOM from all over the world for this campaign. The delay of the FMS package to Taiwan may also be related to this.

@Jasper Roest This is an option (suitability depends on targets, some targets require specialized ordnance, especially hardened nuclear sites). The concern would be that Iran would strike civilian infrastructure throughout the region in retaliation, because the interceptor shortage means that US air defenses (on which regional allies depend) are also weakened. Besides ballistic and cruise missiles, Iran could also attempt saturation drone attacks. The regime retains an unknown number of Shaheds. Besides humanitarian concerns, if the regime were to strike oil-related targets throughout the region, it could have severe economic consequences (that is, the threatened infrastructure campaign against Iran would be effective, but the retaliatory campaign could also be effective).

I've been following Armin's YouTube commentary for a while now (Iran Revolution Live with Goldie at first) and figured it would be interesting to join in over here.
