Challenges such as - vocabulary - grammar - formality (존댓말) - etc

Hi Everyone! My name is Sophia and I'm from Los Angeles, California (USA). I have an interest in learning Korean because my boyfriend of 7 years is Korean and I get excited hearing similarities between words in Cantonese and Korean. I am not anywhere near fluent in any of these languages but it would be cool to learn more! Attached are pictures of our new year breakfast that my boyfriend's mom made!
