Root Cause Therapy
My life is changing slowly but surely, because of this therapy. I have been through over a decade of CBT, person-centred talking therapy, and various ‘counsellors’, some highly trained and even one who was an actual ‘Doctor’ of Psychology… none of them got to the root of the problem, they only scratched the surface. Root Cause Therapy is a somatic healing therapy that targets core beliefs and accesses your subconscious. I can’t really explain it any more than this right now because I just came from session and I’m a bit knackered 😅 (it’s emotionally taxing, because you face things head on, rather than beating around the bush). I just wanted to share my opinion based on my experience <3 lots of love everyone!
‘Sit with your emotions without letting them define you’
Edit: I should’ve prefaced by saying that I am reaching out for help! I’m definitely not trying to denounce this wisdom or question it, which is what my post sounds like… that’s my mistake. I am asking for help with how to do it, please <3 Can’t wrap my head around this. For years and years I’ve seen it in all the esoteric works and even in psychology etc, but I don’t understand how it’s possible to ‘sit with your emotions’ and ‘feel them fully’… while simultaneously not identifying with them. It seems to contradict the idea of ‘letting go’ and ‘being in the present’ (since emotions coming up are generally tied to the past or future) and the notion of not allowing your emotions to dictate your thoughts. Our thoughts are precious and we need to be careful which ones we focus on yada yada, but at the same time we’re told to feel our emotions fully, and even cry if we need to, but doesn’t that just generate more negativity, and thus more negative thought patterns, which in turn creates more negativity?

@Stefano Minin thank you Stefano, but how do we actually do it? What’s the sit down process? I’m grateful for your encouragement ☺️ but I was hoping for a practical answer. Perhaps you know or maybe you can explain how you do it personally? Much love

@Kamila Tonia that’s ok Kamila. If anything it should make my post more visible to the group, bringing more answers 😅 much love to you too
Movie
Question for my friends here! What is your favorite movie, or documentary?? It’s Ok to have several favorites….because I do! I’ll go first…. 1. Interstellar 2. Excalibur (1981) 3. The Matrix….all of them 4. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring 5. Kingdom of Heaven 6. Twilight Samurai 7. What the Bleep do We Know 8. So many more….but these are likely my top! Not necessarily in that order!💕

The Social Network, because the script is excellent, it’s fast-paced (an accurate parallel to the energy of Silicon Valley, programmers, entrepreneurs, etc), and they made early 2000s Harvard look so edgy and, dare I say, fun? 😅 The Great Gatsby, because it’s colourful and sparkly and lovely. It has flaws, of course, but it’s just nice to watch when I want to watch something easy. Interstellar is amazing!! My favourite Christopher Nolan film however is Inception. Hans Zimmer absolutely smashed the music for that - it’s distorted and dramatic and makes you feel a little uneasy, perfectly encapsulating the weird, unhinged mood of dreams. Star Wars - because it’s Star Wars. That’s all I can think of right now but I know I have a few more favourite films in my memory somewhere… I just can’t recall them right now 😂 Fab question Nathan!

Dreams
What are dreams, to you? Are they just stories your mind creates for entertainment? Do they contain symbols and messages from your higher mind? The spirit realm? Are they actual alternative realities that exist somewhere in the “alternatives space”? Are you astral traveling? I would love for you guys to discuss what you think is happening when we dream. Reason for posting is I just woke up from a sort of terrifying dream that felt like an alternate reality. I felt like I was awake but some things weren’t quite normal. For example; I looked at my phone in the dream and the Snapchat icon was green & white, not yellow & white, so I knew at that moment that I wasn’t in my primary reality. 95% of the time my dreams are not like this, so it’s really affected me and got me wondering.

Mysterious book!
Just found this mysterious book at the charity shop (what UK natives call the thrift shop). I opened the first page and was greeted with this message! (2nd pic). Has anyone ever seen this? It tells me to read it in one sitting, and it’ll take half an hour. I’m very excited to see what it has to say!
