🙄🙄🙄 Here's what I'm avoiding...
On Monday I talked about what part of our goal we are avoiding and the 4 questions to ask so we can get over that avoidance and move the goal. Well, here's my one thing... my goal is to grow my coaching practice and my BTR community and help more people reach their big goals. And what I keep avoiding is sharing it with more people and specifically I avoid talking about it in my social media. And looking at the 4 questions I shared on Monday, I see that: -> Maybe I am making it more complicated that it needs to be, I don't need perfect reels, curated posts, I could just be me talking about what I love doing. -> I realized that I probably need to learn more about what successful channels do so I can follow their workbook instead of starting from zero -> I recognized that in this day and age, I need to suck it up and use social media to connect with more people, so no escaping it. -> I started asking myself if I could find a way to get the social media work that I don't enjoy doing, done by someone else, human or AI. With this now I have three areas to take action: post simple reels, study successful accounts, investigate how to outsource the posting. And, I had the deeper realization that this social media outreach is something that comes with my goal and so it needs to be done anyway. 🚩 Have you reflected on your goal and something you've been avoiding doing?

@Christine Fournier well, you are working on something just not related to the online marketing! That is a cool thing a Psilocybin Facilitator, how many classes do you need to take to get that title?

@Christine Fournier that's a big commitment of time when life is already full, but that's what we do when we love the goal and it is aligned with what we want, right? Cheering for you!!

Let's congratulate @Christine Fournier for all her contributions to the community which has made her now reach Level 3! Thank you Christine!!!!👏

🧱 Before you remove the fence...
Today at the property we learned the reason behind a small hole underneath our windows (drains condensation, who would’ve thought??), and it reminded me of Chesterton’s Fence principle. The principle is simple: before you remove something, understand why it was put there in the first place. You can apply the same thinking to your goal. This matters most after a rough week, when scrapping the whole plan feels like the obvious fix. Maybe you want to quit something, drop a commitment, or completely change your plan. Before you do, ask: What is this doing for me that I might be missing? Then look at the trade-off. What will you gain by removing it, and what might you lose? Sometimes removing the thing is exactly the right decision. You just want to understand what it was doing before you knock it down. ⬇️ What’s one thing you’ve been thinking about removing, and what do you think it might be doing for you?

@Christine Fournier I love the idea for a weekly mushroom news! It could be pretty cool: "Hello and welcome to "Christine's Shroom Show", the only news out there that promises to keep you growing and well connected through our exclusive mycelium network" 👏 What is it that terrifies you about youtube?

@Christine Fournier I know that feeling too! But hey, sometimes if you want to have the results you have to take the medicine (or the mushroom 😜 ).
🔎🔎🔎 What part of your goal are you avoiding right now?
That one thing you keep looking at and thinking, 𝙪𝙜𝙝, 𝙄 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩. Something that came up again in Friday’s Premium coaching call is that knowing you want the goal doesn’t mean you’re going to enjoy everything required to get there. Sometimes the work is harder than you expected. You have to learn something new. It makes you uncomfortable. It’s boring. Or you simply don’t want to do it. Before you decide you’re procrastinating or need more discipline, figure out what you’re actually dealing with: 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐈𝐓: 𝐀𝐦 𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞? 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍 𝐈𝐓: 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐭? 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓 𝐈𝐓: 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨? 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐓: 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐛𝐲 𝐦𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐲? Sometimes the answer really is: yes, this is uncomfortable and I need to do it anyway. And sometimes you discover you’ve been fighting with something you could change, get help with, or stop doing altogether. 👉🏼 For this week's commitment: 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤. 🚩 And after you post yours, pick someone else’s answer and help them out: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴? Sometimes it’s much easier to spot the friction in someone else’s goal than in our own. 😄

🔎🔎🔎 What part of your goal are you avoiding right now?
🤔 🗓️ From thinking about it to knowing what to do next
Yesterday in our Open Coaching Call, someone brought something they knew was good for them and wanted to get back to. They’d already spent a couple of weeks thinking about starting again. By the end of the call, they had figured out what was making it harder than it needed to be, what needed to change, and had two things they were going to do that same night. That’s a pretty good example of what we’re working toward here: Stop thinking about the same goal every month and start making actual progress, even when life gets intense. And this is the exactly why we have these Premium calls. Because having more information is not necessarily the problem. You need to take what’s going on for you right now, talk it through, and figure out what you’re actually going to do next.

I help people finally do the thing they've been putting off for way too long, so they don't get to the end wondering why they never tried.
