šŸ’„I cleaned out the classroom inside The Art of Poetry Community, and I’m rebuilding it from scratch. Why?
Because I don’t want a bunch of dead junk sitting in there that nobody uses. I want it to actually help people. So the classroom is going to have FREE resources for the community: šŸ–‹ Writing tips šŸ–‹ Publishing help šŸ–‹ Open mic replays šŸ–‹ Poet spotlights šŸ–‹ Opportunities for writers šŸ–‹ Real advice from people actually doing this This community has never been about acting ā€œeliteā€ or locking everything behind a paywall. I want poets to have a place where they can learn, grow, laugh, connect, and feel like they belong. Now with that said… The monthly anthologies will still have an entry fee for those wanting to be published in the books. That money goes toward: šŸ“– Covers šŸ“– Formatting šŸ“– Publishing costs šŸ“– Marketing šŸ“– Distribution šŸ“– Royalties and admin work šŸ“– Building something professional for everyone involved Nobody is forced to join the anthologies to be part of this community. But if you want the opportunity to become a published poet and be part of these books, the door is open. This community isn’t just about posting poems. It’s about building something that actually matters, together.

STARTING OVER
There is a strange kind of silence that comes after everything falls apart. Not movie silence. Not peaceful silence. I mean the kind where the refrigerator hum sounds like a sermon, and the walls stare at you like they know you failed. Starting over from nothing is not brave in the beginning. It is humiliating. It is standing in the ruins of your own life holding a trash bag of what survived. It is selling things you once loved. It is eating cheap meals while pretending you are not scared. It is watching people disappear the second your usefulness does. And God the loneliness of rebuilding. Nobody applauds the foundation. They only celebrate the house after the lights come on. But there is something powerful about a person who learns to grow roots in scorched earth. A person who says, ā€œI may have lost everything but I am not finished yet.ā€ That kind of soul becomes dangerous. Because once you survive sleeping beside your broken dreams, once you learn how to rebuild with blistered hands and exhausted hope, fear loses its grip on you. You stop worshipping comfort. You stop begging for permission. You stop needing the world to believe in you first. And one morning, without even noticing, you realize the person staring back in the mirror is no longer the one who lost it all. It is someone new. Someone stronger. Someone quieter. Someone who understands that rock bottom is not a grave. It is a beginning. By Jason Strickland

The leaderboard has officially entered poetry gladiator mode. šŸ”„
Last month, Faiza Writes took the crown and became our President of The Art of Poetry but now the big question is… Can she hold the seat? Because this month is already moving fast. Cynthia is climbing. Kimberly is pushing hard. Dawn, May, Delleeesa, Ruth, Lisa, Jasmon, James — everybody is showing up like they heard there was free coffee and emotional damage at the finish line. This is what I love about this community. It’s not just points. It’s participation. It’s encouragement. It’s showing up for each other. It’s writing, reading, commenting, laughing, learning, and building something bigger than ourselves. So here we go: šŸ„‡ 1st Place — President 🄈 2nd Place — Governor šŸ„‰ 3rd Place — Mayor Will President Faiza defend the crown? Or will someone come flying in from the back row with a notebook, a dream, and suspicious amounts of caffeine? Let the month begin. šŸ”„ Drop a comment below and tell me who you think is taking the crown this month.
