Greetings!
I’m Siobhan (Shavon), from Chicago and I currently work in recruiting. I’m looking for something that can help me be in the best situation to retire in 8 yrs.

@Antoinette Apolon I had been looking but hadn’t found anything where the numbers work for me. I currently, I have too many turnovers so I have stopped looking at the moment.

@Jayla Clanton Thank you. I wish you the best too!
Define Your Success
When you think of success—or your ideal life—what does it actually look like? What does your schedule look like? How would you spend your days? I’m asking because the answers to these questions will be different for everyone. Most people say they want "time freedom," but when they finally get the time, they don’t know what to do with it. The worst thing you can do is climb the ladder of success, only to reach the top and realize it was leaning against the wrong wall. Define success on your terms—make sure it serves you. Otherwise, you could end up building a life based on someone else’s vision… and even when you reach the goal, you won’t feel fulfilled. ✨ So tell me—if you had total freedom tomorrow, how would you spend your day?

I would say freedomšŸ˜† For me that means I can get up and go! I want to just dedicate time to take care of myself and travel leisurely. I would like to keep working (I use that loosely) in some capacity. This would be probably more like a hobby kind of work.
Guess who is done with her rehab? Me!!!
I just did something I have NEVER done before... I ran a rehab project completely virtually—with a new team of people I'd never met—and the results are BEAUTIFUL! I spoke to the realtor who's listing the property yesterday. After completing his walkthrough, he called it "impressive." He mentioned there's something remarkable about successfully running a completely virtual rehab and told me I should be proud of myself. But honestly? Even before he said that, I was feeling like a peacock! Because let's face it—rehabs can be difficult. They can go sideways. Things can go wrong. And did they? Absolutely. Did I have to use countless brain cells being creative and problem-solving when issues arose? Yes. Did I have to negotiate prices like the father from "Everybody Hates Chris"? You bet. Did I have to build systems from scratch and encounter things I'd personally never dealt with and had no idea how to fix? Yes! (We don't have basements in Florida, so basement issues were like encountering purple aliens!) Did I even want to do a rehab in the first place? No. But I did it anyway, and now look at me... About to list a property in a growing market that will provide affordable housing for a family and increase neighborhood value—plus I now have a skill set I can repeat again and again. The obstacle truly is the way. Everything you're avoiding? The growth is in there. Just do it. I don't have any magic formula for you—just proof that pushing through the unknown leads to incredible results.

Congrats! I’m glad everything went well. I understand how things can go wrong especially when you don’t have the right people in place. I have out of state property and I feel like selling them. I have been through two management companies and horrible tenants.

@Antoinette Apolon oh okay, hopefully it sells soon! I have two in MO and two in MI. The MO properties are taking me through the wringer.
