Oh yes, can't wait to start the season. You are right, invite people now. It doesn't cost them anything to join.
I asked ChatGPT how the NFL Salary and Contract system works..
Here is what it said: 🧠 NFL Salary Cap — The Big Picture Every NFL team has a salary cap (a spending limit) each year. šŸ‘‰ Think of it like a budget šŸ‘‰ You can’t just spend unlimited money šŸ‘‰ You have to build a full roster within that limit šŸ’° What Makes Up a Player Contract? From a team’s perspective, contracts usually have 3 main parts: 1. Base Salary - Paid during the season - Counts fully against the cap that year Easy to understand, easy to move 2. Signing Bonus - Paid upfront to the player - BUT spread out (ā€œproratedā€) over multiple years for cap purposes Example:$20M bonus over 5 years = $4M cap hit per year This is how teams manage and lower short-term cap hits 3. Guaranteed Money - Money the player gets no matter what - Includes signing bonus + sometimes salary This is the real commitment from the team šŸ“Š Why Teams Structure Contracts This Way Teams are constantly balancing: Win now vs. future flexibility šŸ† ā€œWin Nowā€ Teams - Push money into the future - Use big signing bonuses - Lower current cap hits Result: Strong roster now, but future cap stress šŸ”„ ā€œRebuildā€ Teams - Keep contracts cleaner - Avoid pushing money forward - Maintain flexibility Result: More cap space, but less immediate talent āš ļø Dead Money When a player is cut or traded: Any remaining bonus money hits the cap immediately This is called: Dead Money Example: - Player has $10M left in bonus → gets cut - Team takes $10M cap hit with no player šŸ”§ Tools Teams Use Teams constantly adjust contracts by: - Restructuring (convert salary → bonus to lower current cap) - Extensions (spread money over more years) - Cuts/Trades (clear future space, sometimes painful) šŸŽÆ The Real Game From a franchise perspective, it’s not just about talent. It’s about: šŸ‘‰ Timing contracts šŸ‘‰ Managing cash vs cap šŸ‘‰ Predicting future performance šŸ’” Simple Way to Think About It - The salary cap = a puzzle - Contracts = puzzle pieces - The goal = build the best team without breaking the rules

šŸˆ Offensive Rookie of the Year Predictions (WAY Too Early šŸ˜„)
Alright… I know, I know… šŸ‘‰ It’s WAY too early for this. But I saw an article from Ben Solak on ESPN and thought… why not stir things up a bit šŸ‘€ Here are his Offensive Rookie of the Year candidates: • Fernando Mendoza • Jeremiyah Love • Carnell Tate • Jadarian Price • Jordyn Tyson • KC Concepcion • Makai Lemon • Denzel Boston • Omar Cooper Jr. • Carson Beck • Drew Allar • Antonio Williams His take? šŸ‘‰ If they’re not on this list… they have ZERO chance šŸ˜… (We’ll revisit that later…) What do YOU think? • Who’s your early pick? • Who’s missing from this list? • And who’s going to prove everyone wrong? I have no idea, but I will be watching.
šŸˆ Undrafted… but Not Ignored: The Diego Pavia Story
One of the biggest surprises after the draft? šŸ‘‰ Diego Pavia — Heisman runner-up — went undrafted Let that sink in: • 3,500+ passing yards • 71% completion rate • 29 TD / 8 INT • 800+ rushing yards And still… no call on draft day. But now? The Baltimore Ravens signed him to a 3-year deal before even bringing him in for a tryout. Why Did He Fall? • Size concerns (5’10ā€) • Questions on deep accuracy • Some off-the-field concerns being mentioned Now he walks into a QB room with: Lamar Jackson Veteran depth already in place So nothing is guaranteed… He still has to earn a roster spot. šŸ”„ The Big Question: Is this: A hidden gem that slipped through the cracks? Or a player who may struggle to stick in the league? What do YOU think? Did teams make a mistake… or is there more to the story? DBR

Really, that's crazy.
šŸˆ What It Really Takes to Build a Great Team
One of the reasons football is so fascinating… It’s the ultimate team sport. 11 players on offense 11 on defense And a full unit on special teams That’s 30+ players that must operate in sync. So what separates good teams from championship teams? šŸ”‘ It comes down to a few things: 1. Execution over talent Talent gets attention… Execution wins games 2. Coaching & Development Great teams don’t just have players… - They develop them - They put them in the right system 3. Role Clarity Every player knows: - Their job - Their responsibility - Their assignment on every play 4. Consistency & DisciplineChampionship teams avoid: • Mental mistakes • Penalties • Missed assignments 5. Culture & Buy-InThe best teams aren’t just skilled… - They trust each other - They play for something bigger At the highest level… It’s not about having the best individuals. šŸ‘‰ It’s about having the best TEAM. What do you think is the #1 factor in building a championship team? DBR

Yes, how many times have I seen great players on losing teams. They couldn't work as a team. You're much better as I team in life as well as any sport.
