Promote With Context
One mistake creators make when promoting is sharing only the link. A link by itself does not build trust. People need context. They need to know what the community is, who it is for, why it matters, and what they will get from joining. Think of your promotion like a tiny introduction. You are not begging people to click. You are helping the right people understand why they should care. That small shift makes promotion feel more natural and much more effective. Example: Instead of “Join my Skool,” say, “This is for creators who want simple daily visibility without feeling salesy.” Example: Instead of “Check this out,” say, “This community helps small business owners share their offers and connect with others.” Example: Instead of only adding a link, add one clear benefit before the link. When you share your community, do you usually explain the value first, or do you mostly just drop the link?

I always try to lead with the value first. If people understand how my community can help them, they’re much more likely to click the link than if I just drop it. The link is the last step—the value is what gets their attention.
