Recommended Tool for Photographers: Clicky
Here's a tool I shared in yesterday's Q&A session which some of you have asked about. Its called Clicky - it's an analytics tool and complimentary/alternative to GA4 Analytics are important to know what's actually working on your site. Are people seeing your portfolio? Are they getting in touch? Or are they leaving your site without taking action? This is where understanding your website traffic is incredibly helpful. This is why Clicky is really useful. Why Should You Bother With Analytics? I know that you're a photographer, not a data analyst. But understanding what's happening on your site can help you figure out: - Which of your photos are the most popular with your visitors. - How people are finding your website (e.g., Google, Instagram, or a link from another site). - What pages they view right before they decide to contact you. - If your marketing efforts, like a Facebook ad, are actually bringing people to your site. Knowing this information is valuable. It means you can stop guessing and start making informed decisions to attract more of the clients you want. What Is Clicky and Why Is It Different? While Google Analytics is a well-known option, many people find it complex. Clicky is a great alternative because it’s built to be straightforward and gives you the information you need without a steep learning curve. One of its best features is that it shows you what's happening on your site in real-time. Useful Features in Clicky Clicky has some great features that are especially helpful for photographers: - Real-Time Visitor Info: You can see visitors as they arrive on your site, where they came from, and what pages they're looking at. This is great for seeing the immediate impact of a new blog post or social media share. - Heatmaps: This is a fantastic feature that shows you exactly where people are clicking on your pages. Are they clicking on a specific portrait? Or is a landscape photo getting all the attention? It helps you understand what your visitors are drawn to. - Uptime Monitoring: If your site ever goes down, Clicky can send you an alert so you can get it fixed quickly. - Cleaner Data: It’s very effective at filtering out bots and spam traffic, so the stats you're looking at are from real people. - Privacy-Focused: Clicky respects visitor privacy and is GDPR-compliant by default, which is important for building trust with your audience.

@Michael Westcott Clicky has its own plugin in the Wordpress library - can also be used on many sites just by adding a script code to the header as well

Some of you asked which analytics tool I was using in yesterday's Q&A - I've posted details about it here at https://www.skool.com/seo-for-photographers/recommended-tool-for-photographers-clicky?p=b1e0c240
First Live Q&A – Tuesday 3rd February, 8pm (UK)
I’m going to run our first live Q&A on Tuesday 3rd February at 8pm. Go to the Calendar tab of this group to get the link - it will be hosted on the Skool video platform (not Zoom). It’ll be a informal session where you can ask questions about SEO for photographers, your website, local visibility, or anything from the course you want help applying to your own business. If you can’t make it live, no stress — I’ll record it and share the replay here. 👇 Drop your questions below ahead of time if you can, and include: - Your website - What you’ve tried so far - Where you’re stuck That way I can give more useful, specific answers. We’ll start with one a month and add more as the group grows.

Recommended Tool for Photographers: Repurpose.io
Just wanted to share a tool I've been using lately that's been a huge help with my social media workflow over the years. It's called Repurpose.io As you know, it can be a real grind trying to keep up with all the different social media platforms. You create some great content, and then you have to spend ages formatting and uploading it to each channel. It's a total time-suck! I've been using this tool personally, and it's been a lifesaver. It basically automates the whole process. You can post a video to one platform, and it will automatically send it to all your other channels, in the right format and without the watermarks. It's pretty slick. It's been great for getting my work out there more without having to spend all day on my phone. It even backs up all my videos to my Google Drive, which is a nice bonus. If you're feeling swamped with social media stuff, it might be worth a look. It's not for everyone, but if you're posting a lot of content, it could save you a ton of time and get your work in front of more people. They have a free trial if you want to give it a spin. You can check out here at Repurpose.io Hope this helps!
