38 and love to skate 🛹
I’m 38 and skateboarding has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Like most people, it’s been on and off over the years. Around 17 I stepped away when I joined the army, but the love for it never really left. At 19, while I was in Germany, I picked up a board again and found myself back at a local skatepark, same feeling, same pull, same frustration and joy all mixed together. Fast forward a few years, having kids changed everything in the best way. Teaching them to skate, falling together, laughing, getting back up… it made me fall in love with skating all over again. Not just for the tricks, but for what it teaches you without even realising. Lately, posting clips on TikTok sparked something deeper. I realised skateboarding gave me a lot growing up, resilience, patience, discipline, and the mindset to not quit when things get hard. You slam, you get back up. That lesson sticks with you far beyond the park. That’s why this community exists. After the Slam isn’t about being the best skater, landing every trick, or chasing likes. It’s about movement, growth, and showing up, whatever that looks like for you. Kids, teens, adults, parents, beginners, people coming back after years away, everyone belongs here. This is a place to: - Ride and move at your own pace - Learn from each other, not compete - Share progress, struggles, and small wins - Build confidence and character, on and off the board If you’re here, you’re already part of the crew. No pressure. No judgement. Just people who get it. 🛹🤝🔥
