Deck Building - Keep a PPT file of all your favorite slides
For better or for worse, the corporate world relies on PowerPoint...and sometimes your ability to make effective PPT decks will determine the trajectory of your career! Quick Tip: keep a slide deck of all of your favorite PPT slides that you have created/stolen over the years. It will come in handy and make your life a lot easier to have a repository of top-quality slides ready to go. As you can see from Joe's video, PPT revisions can be annoying and take up a lot of time...save your self by using your stockpile of great slides!

Networking - Use dopamine to build connections!
Stop asking the same sleepy questions and ask questions that trigger a dopamine response in the other person! People create mental markers to remember you when you ask questions that induce a dopamine response....you become more memorable and people will want to have deeper conversations with you. Example: Stop asking, "What do you do for a living"...this is a tired old question, it can also be seen as being slightly offensive because you are really asking them what they are worth. Instead, ask, "Are you working on anything exciting lately?" - This gets them thinking about the thing that are excited about... and it could be work or a hobby, so it really creates an opportunity for people to open up about themselves. Vanessa Van Edwards explains it the best, check out her video below!

Networking - Get past the small talk
The real value of your network is having a roster of people who mutually care about each and are willing to vouch for each other…this is where people can find their dream jobs or tackle difficult issues. But how do you build these relationships? Well there are several things that you can do, like creating value for other people or introducing them to the right people. But before you even get that far, you have to have great conversations! Networking events are full of small talk that lead to a bunch of superficial LinkedIn connections! Work on having better conversations so that you can get to know someone better and build a real connection! Here is a great example from Chris Voss on how to have a better conversation: https://youtube.com/shorts/4PAbI4yLUOE?si=GtJNX2AMlXRj-uXh
