When I started this community, I built it for people who love the outdoors and want more from it. That hasn't changed — but something's been on my mind. For every one of us out there enjoying it, there's someone stuck at the front door. Someone who's never started, or who lost their outdoor life to injury, burnout or just... life, and can't find the way back. I was that person once. I didn't knwo how to get started, then ended up in a career instructing and coaching. Then in 2023 I had my first child and suffered from PND and loss of identity - I had to work hard to get back the confidence I had when outdoors. So from this month, Recalibrate Outdoors is officially for them too — and I'm opening a small number of 1-1 coaching spots to walk that journey with people personally. Nothing changes for you except this: you're now the welcome party. If you know someone who keeps saying 'I really should get outdoors more' — send them here. Needed a reset this evening. After a great session at work today, I've come back feeling deflated, a little confused and verging on frustrated. Why? Not sure yet but something has triggered the inner me and I'll work it out, but for now. Fresh air, being present, watching the wind carry across the field behind my house - that'll do ☺️ Reminder to take time, be present and sit with feelings. That's what grows confidence, being comfortable in the uncomfortable...

Today I heard from Kelly. Kelly is a personal trainer and fitness guru that loves the outdoors but wanted more confidence in her skillset. I've worked with her on 2 sessions so far, building confidence in: ✅ Knife work ✅ Tool use ✅ Processing wood for a fire ✅ Lighting & maintaining a fire ✅ Leave No Trace ethics ✅ Navigation basics ✅ Trip / route planning Kelly just got in touch with some awesome photos from her solo wild camp which she is obviously buzzing about and was kind enough to say that our sessions together have helped! She has another session booked, ready to delve a little deeper into her skillset now. If you're looking for something similar, please do get in touch - always happy to help.
