My name is Za'Kirra Smith and I am the founder and owner of World Connect. I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you all why I created this community. Many years ago I had an idea to create a community/business that helped local consumers find local businesses. I wrote down my idea in a notebook, and after doing research and attempting to build a platform that would work, I became discouraged and walked away from the idea. Fast forward to last year, I was invited on a trip to China by a childhood family/friend. He asked me if I had any connections in China and with a heavy heart I had to tell him no. If you're wondering why he would ask me that question, I am an avid traveler who prefers to be international vs USA base. I fell in love with travel after taking my first trip to the Dominican Republic many years ago. About 3 years ago I worked up the courage to travel to Bali, Indonesia and fell in love with being on the side of the world that many people don't go to. I travel to South East Asia a few times a year, including Dubai, and Egypt to name a few. So when my friend asked me if I had connections in China, a light bulb went off. Instead of focusing on a local platform where businesses and consumers can connect, why not create a global platform. Just the thought of it made my heart race and I began wondering HOW? Well here is the start. A global business directory where businesses and consumers can connect. It won't be built over night, just as Rome wasn't, but gradually it'll grow. And the beautiful thing is, you're not restricted to your local community. Here in the World Connect directory you will be able to search businesses by country and connect with those who are listed.
