Ever frozen mid-pitch even though you know the product?
I recently joined as an inside sales rep. My manager asked me to create a product deck and pitch it to him first. I made a 52-slide PPT (first one ever), put in serious effort… and he mocked it for being too fancy, targeting wrong audience and asked me not to ask any question to clients which is counter to what i have been learning from sales videos of youtube and told me to pitch verbally instead. I started in my local language (fine). Then he said: “Pitch it in English.” And I completely froze. I speak English casually with friends, but in front of him I could not say a single sentence. It was embarrassing and shook my confidence. So I need honest advice from sales folks: - Is freezing like this common early in sales? - Is this pressure, confidence, or language? - How do you train yourself to think and speak clearly under pressure? - What practical things can I do to fix this fast? Appreciate any real, practical advice Thanks community in advance
