The Expert Coach Certification is sold for £5,000. This is not some fake marketing technique to get you to trust me. The truth is the online space today is not that empowering. There are few communities available for coaches and consultants That provides real value and most are just spam communities. . . Day in and day out my ads get bombarded with negative comments about coaching I get tired of people commenting negative things. how all coaches just want to make money etc Coaching is a scam etc Making money is not why I decided to become a coach. There is nothing wrong with making money from coaching However, if it is the most important factor to you as a coach You are most likely going to fail. . . Money is a by-product of being an amazing coach. Money is a by-product of being able to create amazing transformations with clients The truth is most coaches/consultants are just not that good at the skill of coaching

@Krystal Dethan Don't let self doubt discourage you along the way. I did everything but get official clients and did all practice on friends. Some knowingly and some unknowingly. Just asked random questions that I learned I could when I saw the opportunity. I've gotten to the end and have but to set up the actual coaching session and send it in with required paperwork for the certificate. Some people can learn on the go with less to start then others and some, like myself, require taking in the learning a bit before trying to apply it. I feel in myself I am a lot more confident now after going through everything multiple times then I was when I first heard Ed say go get three clients to practice on. I look back and can see where I have had many conversations that differ from the normal flow an it has become easier and seems more natural to ask many of the questions now that I understand the why behind them. Whatever works best for your flow. That's just how it is!

@Agata Piatkowska I do. I've typed out everything but I wrote it all by hand first. The "I take responsibility..." I write out in my idea note book which I picked up specifically for this course and made it the first thing I see when I open the book.

@Jean Paul Faustino That's where it starts.
Question
How do you reconcile the 'I'm taking responsibility for everything in my life' with things such as chronic illness or childhood abuse? And isn't there a danger when someone has had to work hard to get out of over-responsibility taking - so blaming yourself for things happening to you. Trying to work past and get a language for clients who I know that this will trigger. Thanks

Coaching vs Counseling ?
Knowing your clients needs; Coaching or Counseling ?? There's a difference..
Coaching and counseling are both supportive processes aimed at helping individuals achieve personal or professional growth, but they differ in several keyways: Focus and Purpose: Coaching typically focuses on specific goals and objectives related to personal development, career advancement, or skill improvement. It's future-oriented, helping clients identify and achieve their potential. Counseling, on the other hand, often deals with deeper emotional or psychological issues, such as trauma, mental health concerns, or relationship problems. It's more about resolving past or present issues to improve overall well-being. Approach: Coaching tends to be action-oriented and results-driven, employing strategies, techniques, and accountability to help clients reach their goals. Coaches often provide guidance, feedback, and support to facilitate progress. Counseling usually involves exploring emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in depth, often drawing from psychological theories and therapeutic interventions to promote insight, healing, and self-awareness. Scope of Practice: Coaches typically work with clients who are functioning reasonably well but seek improvement in specific areas of their lives. They may specialize in areas like leadership, career development, fitness, or relationships. Counselors often work with individuals experiencing significant distress, mental health challenges, or life transitions. They may have expertise in areas such as anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, or family therapy. Credentials and Regulation: Coaching is less regulated compared to counseling, and there's a wide range of training programs and certifications available for coaches. Ed JC Smith’s Expert Coach is highly recommended. While some coaches may have formal education in psychology or counseling, it's not always a requirement. Counselors typically have advanced degrees (such as a master's or doctoral degree) in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. They often need to be licensed or certified by their state or country, which involves meeting specific education, training, and ethical standards.
